iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

self care is fun though. i used to struggle with it, but now i just have little at home spa days. where i'll just do a facemask, have some tea, do my nails...

it's a good trick but won't work on instrumental ai music. Here's stuff i pay attention too: -the side channel in isolation. AI music doesn't record or mix or anything, just denoise a spectrogram basically. so the side channel makes no sense. - anything above 10kHz, it's weird. - soupy transients

also i've realized over the years anothe compnemt of it for me might lie in the mixing and overall sound emgineering behind it. english dubs really put the voice forward, with less dynamics than french or japanese dubs in my ears. it could also be that english dubs are more close-mic'd? idk

great artie. i've been wanting to understand the english dub anime voice thing. I guess english dubs try to stick really hard to lip flaps? I'm more familiar with french dubs where they mostly care about stopping at hitches, flaps are less relevant (kinda green light red light system)

it's obviously not gonna sound exactly like a real double tracked vocal, but it's gonna sound pretty sweet still. It's a bit of a crutch in case tho ngl.

Kookie 🏳️‍⚧️ @kookie.music · 06/10/2026

record a good vocal line, or comp on down. once ur happy with it, duplicate your track, pull up melodyne on the copy, then ever so slightly move the timing of each word, touch up the pitch drift so it's different from the original, and finally slightly shift the formants up or down.

Kookie 🏳️‍⚧️ @kookie.music · 06/10/2026

i've been using the highly illegal melodyne doible tracking technique for that x3 i'm so lazy

110

Kookie 🏳️‍⚧️ @kookie.music · 05/10/2026

highkey, everyone makes it sound like double tracking is vocals101 but i disagree. there's no shame in experimenting with it ""late""

i paid for nfc reg, but if the price stays this high it will be the last year i attend. 180euros for reg is insanely steep, especially in the current economy

furry music is getting a lot more attention as the fandom grows bigger. it does come with unwanted attention, but we make sure to remind audiences what furry stands for! at this point "ass music" is a running joke in furry music collectives, and we see suggestive art as a good filter for audiences!

really good blog post. i have been thinkin about the compensation question a lot too. in a way the current state of furry cons reminds me a lot of how my dad described scifi cons in the early 80s. what do we do with our spaces when a fandom transitions into mainstream culture

i really like witch hat atelier's take on the matter, where it's just pen and ink. the difficulty of drawing magic is very tangible to anyone who's ever tried drawing a perfect circle.

i kinda figured out the best way to escape the boys club a bit at conventions is to hang out in the artsy areas, around craftspeople and artists. i still haven't figured out how to adress the root issue though.

Not CDs (although some do sell CDs) but I've been buying and downloading stuff on Bandcamp lately because Bandcamp doesn't allow AI and I can keep a local copy of everything and support the artists Sick of having to question if new songs are by new artists or AI sloppers

isitbandcampfriday.com Bandcamp Friday is this Friday for all who celebrate. To all musicians out there - please offer your music on a service that allows supporters to buy stuff and throw money at you! Streaming for fractions of a cent is futile. This has been a public service bulletin.

im constantly being torn apart between writing super hard hitting hyperpop and just grabbing my guitar and writing heartfelt acoustic songs. i love performing acoustic so fucking much. it's so natural and easy to me. but i also love producing songs to the max. what do i do
