nontechnical version: this is a big deal + huge step for transparency! most companies keep their code private/proprietary, but bc ours is public, you can literally see every implementation (how we make buttons blue, how mute lists work, etc) & what we're working on at any given moment

We’re working on an open network for algorithms that essentially means anyone can create one. Then you’ll create or use the one that fits your vibe. Won’t need to be a programmer but devs will be able to get right in there if they want. Same with moderation.

Awesome thread by Paul, read if you’re interested in some technical fundamentals on atproto & a couple of the big things we’ve been chatting about recently

This is a reminder. Paul, sorry to bother you. I just want to know if blocks between different PDSs work in the same way as within a PDS.

Thanks to the team for all your hard work! May I ask a little, does a protocol-level change mean that blocks are still effective after federation?

Bluesky は後発の SNS なのですから、何か "尖った機能" が欲しいですよね。みなさんなら、どんな機能を所望します？

we’re a small team, working as hard as we can, juggling multiple priorities to build a usable social app at the same time as a decentralized social protocol. we chose to do this hard mode (both protocol and product) so we could show, not tell, that the AT Protocol works. thanks for kicking the tires

Definitely faster and better. Thank you!

@pfrazee.com, I have a question: will you officially support the use of multiple handles as aliases for a single DID in the future?

Maybe there is a bug in the Notifications timeline? I saw posts about that.

There may be many features that have yet to be implemented, but I’m already grateful that Bluesky has given me the opportunity to rethink what social media should be.

Just like our approach to algorithmic choice, our approach to moderation allows for an ecosystem of third-party providers. Moderation should be a composable, customizable piece that can be layered into your experience. blueskyweb.xyz/blog/4-13-2023-moder…

Hey @pfrazee.com, please tell us about federation. When will it be launched? And as it is available, will there be multiple timelines like local and global?
