It fills the blurred background with this image.
A fake screen shot of the Gizmodo web site. It has the Gizmodo menu bar, and this fake article:

"Cryptocurrencies: Coinbase Says Let the AI Agents Trade Fartcoin" "Why lose money trading Fartcoin when an AI agent could lose it for you?" "By Kyle Torpey - Published June 12, 2026, 2:26 PM ET" "Reading Time 3 Minutes"

Oh, fuck you, Peet's.
Three K-cup coffee pods, arranged top, bottom left, bottom right. Top is a Major Dickason's Blend, previous branding, with "Dark Roast Coffee" in white text on a brown strip, and Major Dickason's Blend below that in white on black. The new design is below it, with "Major Dickason's" in black on off-white, and "Dark Roast" below that in white on red. The decaf variety is to the right of it, with a strikingly similar "House Blend" in black on off-white, and "Dark Roast" again below it in white on red. It has the barely readable "Decaf" above it in white on green.

Fuck you too, Apple! #advanceddataprotection #apple #security Advanced Data Protection, my ass! Guess it's too late to snatch my data back now that Apple belongs to Trump.
Screen shot of macOS Tahoe System Preferences, reading:

Advanced Data Protection is On
Remember to keep your recovery methods up to date. If you lose access to your account, you will need to use your recovery key or recovery contact to get your data back.Screen shot of macOS Tahoe System Settings, with a notice reading:

Confirm Advanced Data Protection Setting
There was an error when you most recently tried to turn off Advanced Data Protection. Apple isn't able to help you recover your iCloud data until Advanced Data Protection is turned off.

There is a button labeled: Turn Off, and another button labeled: Keep On.A Screen Shot of the System Settings app on macOS Tahoe, highlighting that Advanced Data Protection appears to be turned Off.

Coincidentally, it is also indicating all of the data storage space I am using. Maybe that's why they're having trouble encrypting it all.

google ai is once again gaslighting me, and insists that Costco does indeed sell name brand trash bags not in a bundle with a whole ass trash can, when that's all they have. If you want boxes of bags without a trash can, or refills for this deal, you're gonna be buying Kirkland Signature bags.
screen shot from costco.com of the only option for "glad trash bags", showing a combo deal bundling a whole ass trash can with the bags

Well, well. I was right. The rain is not coming to my city. The swirling piss vortex is being repelled by the localized hell vortex that is my city.
Weather radar map of California, showing that the swirling vortex of rain clouds are sadly once again completely avoiding my location.

Fucking Apple. I can't upgrade my iPhone to iOS 26.1, because over 32GB of the 64GB of storage is being eaten up by the OS. Oh, and it now saves cropped screen shots as JPEGs.
Cropped screen shot of the iOS 26.0.1 storage status page, showing that over half of my storage is being eaten up by the "iOS" and "System Data" categories. The next largest item is "Applications", followed by my mere 5GB of cached photo data.

Yes, it saved the screen shot as a JPEG, adding lovely ringing artifacts to all the text.

CW: uspol, AI, gross So, according to Google AI, Trump does not vacate his bowels. That must be why all the shit comes out of his mouth whenever he speaks instead!
A screen shot crop of a Google search for the phrase "trump trump took a dump". The AI Overview states: "The claim that Donald Trump 'took a dump' is false and not supported by any credible evidence. It is a crude and vulgar expression that has appeared in multiple contexts over the years."

Fuck you, Apple customers! If you're dumb enough to buy a tablet with just 64GB of storage, that leaves your shmuck ass with just 24GB for user data! That's right, 24GB for user data! That includes apps!
iPadOS is using 25.12 GB of space, of which, in another screen, it reports to be reserving about 7 GB for OS updates. It is also using roughly 17.13 GB for "System Data", which appears to include swap space, as the figure fluctuates by 60-100MB every time I save a cropped screen shot to my photos library.

Okay, so my parents' local newspaper seriously referenced avocado toast in a full backpage ad to drive up subscriptions.
A full page newspaper ad, captioned, "A month's subscription to the Press-Enterprise, THE SUN and the Daily Bulletin equals the cost of one of these:" followed by a picture of avocado toast. The rest follows, "One will make you hip. The other will make you smart. The fact is, quality journalism can't be done on the cheap. Scoops. Insight. Context. These take time and talent. And that costs money-which is where you come in.

If you already subscribe, thank you.

If you value local news, won't you show your support with a monthly subscription?

Because otherwise, hometown newspapers like ours will be toast."

Then follows their slogan, "Local. News. Matters."

Sunday's Wizard of Id has total "how do you do, fellow kids" energy this week #comics #wizardofid #howdoyoudofellowkids
Sunday, June 29, 2025's Wizard of Id comic. The king is giving a speech from the balcony. He sighs in one panel, then thinks "Okay... here we go" in the next. Then, the speech: "My fellow Idiots. The state of the union is... Friggin' dope as heck, fam!" (in the background, fireworks go off) "You're high-key delulu if you sleepin' on how dank this economy is irl" "This place be straight bussin' while our enemies clockin up some legit skibidi brain rot" "No cap, the rest of the world is mid. I, your gigachad king, have unlocked infinite drip!" (the crowd exlaims "YAAAAY!") The king leaves the balcony and says "Our new Gen Z speechwriter is lit!", as the crowd exlaims "hooray!" outside.

CW: Bruce Tinsley's shitty comic, shitty childhood memories I must not be very "normal", because I don't remember ever playing the "My dad could beat up your dad" card during my lifetime. Nobody really played it against me, either. Though once, during one of those lovely proxy baptism outings
A comic featuring two kids standing next to each other, and one of them is bragging to the other, "My dad's virtual reality avatar could beat up your dad's virtual reality avatar."

Holy crap, Thunderbird. Shut *up*. As a friend said: Developers learn what 'consent' means challenge (impossible) #thunderbird #email #mail #consent
A screen shot of a window titled "Compact folders" from the mail reader, Thunderbird.

Thunderbird needs to do regular file maintenance to improve the performance of your mail folders. This will recover 21.9 MB of disk space without changing your messages. To let Thunderbird do this automatically in the future without asking, check the box below before choosing 'Compact now'.

Below that is a checkbox labeled "Compact folders automatically in the future"

Below are two choice buttons labeled "Remind me later" and "Compact now", and on the far left, a button labeled "Learn more...".

For anyone who is a native Spanish speaker, I’ve been told that this Flagrant User Error is valid in some dialects. I’m wondering how widespread this is. I do know that Dúo is quite broken depending on where you’re from or which language pairs you’re working with.
A screen shot of a Duolingo lesson where it reports I made a mistake. The lesson is from the position of Spanish for English speakers, and is asking me “Where do you want to go shopping?” I provided the translation of “¿Dónde quieres ir a comprar?” and they were looking for “¿Dónde quieres ir de compras?”

Thanks to your post, I found out that Firefox Nightly fades out the explicit blur effect toward the bottom of the window when you're scrolling, and also that the blur effect isn't a server side blur hash, but a client side CSS filter applied to the full image.
Browser is showing the above image post, only it's fading out the censoring effect toward the bottom of the screen, like a gradient. I have crudely drawn a blue paint blob over the naughty bits that are showing through the filter.
