This last month has been very busy! At the end of August, my husband and I took an amazing trip to Japan, and this weekend we adopted this sweet little girl. We are very happy to have little Ember part of the family now.

Reading @yote-in-print.bsky.social's blog on some recent creator discourse, and this line really resonated with me. I couldn't agree more. Art is messy. Art is challenging. It doesn't always deal with comfortable topics, and that's how it should be.

"I want art from Queer perspectives that are messy and honest, because some of us grew up like this. Some of us didn’t grow up with a clear understanding of what Queerness means and had to wrestle with bigger ideologies and theologies within us. And maybe we’ve internalized some broken stuff. And maybe art can be a way to process that."

The best thing about getting my audiobook through @doppelfoxxpublishing.com is that on top of the majority of the money staying in the fandom, the files are DRM-free! That means you can use any audio player you want. For Android I recommend Sirin or Smart Audiobook Player.

It's the 1-year anniversary of the self-published release of My Remise! To everyone who has supported me this last year, every view, read, like, rating, or review, know it's not lost on me. In my loftiest goals, I never could've thought it'd get the reception it did. Sincerely, thank you! #furrylit

I guess I have some reviews on the website romance.io. I've not heard of it, but I love these tags people put. "grumpy and sunshine" 😆 not so sure about steampunk, though.

The story is called "From Tractor Sales to Fluffy Tails." I really loved writing the prompt for the anthology and quickly fell in love with these characters. It's very exciting to finally get to share them with you all. TF and werewolves, is there really anything better? Here is a quick blurb:

"After celebrating the biggest sale of his career as a tractor salesman, Clay hooks up with a farmer in a rural Oregon town. Hungover, with little memory of his sexual encounter, Clay discovers he has transformed into a werewolf. Stuck shifted with the plans for his life now in question, Clay, along with the help of his one-night stand, seeks the town's Mayor for a cure."

As we approach the anniversary of My Remise's release on the 25th, I'm also only 10 sales away from reaching the break even point for production cost. So, if you want to get a headstart on the Cóytle reading list now is a great time to pick up My Remise. #furrylit #furrywritting

It's already gross that they allow it, but pushing for AI-voiced audiobooks is disgusting. I'm so glad to have a real, talented human, voice mine.

Waterways was the first furry and first gay book I ever read. My friend let me borrow it shortly after I joined the fandom and accepted my sexuality. It was profoundly impactful on me. @kyellgold.com has inspired me for years, and it's safe to say I wouldn't be here without him. This one's special.

Artists and writers, quote with your queer characters! A sort of concept piece I got from @dbruinart.bsky.social of Art and Leof back when I was still in the first draft of the book. This is the first rendition of both of them. Though, Art is definitely not gay, okay!

Slight spoiler for an early scene in My Remise, but I wanted to share the second interior image. It's one of my favorites. LittleBadWolf nailed the expression for Artbe. Transformed in a new world, little does he know this is only the start of how his life will change. #furrywriters #books

A male bear pressed up against the wall of a cabin, shocked. A male coyote and a female bear look over him.

About 2.5 years before I actually started writing it, I jotted down my basic story idea. So much has changed and evolved, but a bunch of story beats came from this. Fun fact, at this point, Winton was the main character, and Artbe wasn't even a thought in my brain.

Koda Copeland @kodacopeland.bolf.club · 18/07/2025

A friend mentioned @thestorygraph.com, and I realised I never checked if my book was on there. Turns out someone had added it, and I found a review I hadn't seen yet. The fact that the characters are repeatedly mentioned as a standout in My Remise brings the biggest smile to my face.

Book Review:

I'm kind of a slow reader but I wolfed this book down so fast, (pun intended).

Artbe is such a fascinating character, his flaws and desires are integrated so well into the plot of the story. The slow process of him realizing his queerness and falling in love with Leofric had my heart swooning. This book gripped me so much it felt like I was reading an adventure serial.

Look at this sexy wolf. You know you want to read about him trying to woo over a clueless bear suppressing his attraction to him.

A sexy wolf is standing in a doorway to his bedroom, gazing with a smirk across his muzzle.

An incredibly kind review form Aether. It makes me happy everyone is enjoying the characters so much. It was a large focus for me. I wanted Artbe to be complex and not a blank slate stand in. You may not love him at first, but hopefully people can still relate to him and enjoy watching him grow.

My Remise released one week ago today! I've been overwhelmed by the love and support I've received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who have purchased it. Here's what some of the early readers are saying:

Reading it was like wrapping myself in a comforter on a cold winter’s day – there’s a warmth radiating from the novel’s pages that embraced me from the opening chapters and made me reluctant to leave Deavon when it ended.
