😁 Our 'bunker': chambers on loan from London Underground. Turned up 1st day: door locked, staff didn't have key. Back early 2nd day: engineers still busy emptying place of all their kit, tools, hi-viz, etc. Emergency Phone had 3 numbers next to it: minicabs, Chinese takeaway, local bookies shop!

In my old working life, had the 'manual' to follow & enact much of the emergency laws required in this instance. Grim sombre reading, triaging human survival.

Spent the afternoon with Ork Reivers razing villages. My Heroes were a mixed bag, including the Shaman, who was worth more to my armies after we shanked him ourselves!

Last day of the gaming weekend and it was spent 'Burning Banners'. It's impressive, quite a basic system but a walloping great melange of asymmetrical madness! There's a lot more to explore in this box.

More 15mm WSS completed. Dixon Miniatures as Imperial Austrian grenadiers this time. Just matt varnish & some green on the bases, before proper basing & flocking. Mainly painted by my Beloved Better-Half. I just added hat lace & some leather slings. Very happy with these 👍 #Wargaming #15mmWSS

Sometimes acquire old metal stuff for my Space-1889 project, with those old slottabars joining the feet. Out come the snips & files to trim that shyte off! Slotta bases get recycled with the milk/drink bottles & plastic food harness crap fortnightly.

Weekend of rummaging gamestuff stored away. Found these 'trench-tiles' I made in mid-90s, for a Spacehulk & Trench Raids project. Used old Foundry 25mm (not 28s) WW1. Those are long gone, but can reuse tilrs for other ideas. Plastic card, sand, glue, matchsticks & brown Matchpot emulsion. #Wargaming

Thanks, it was a Trench Brown prime, followed by a Spearstaff brown wash and then a Bone dry brush, and also used the Bone to pick out single random stones too. Put on a satin varnish first, then a matt varnish over the top of that to finish off.

I did like some of the aspects of these rules. Sadly I was alone with that. All my gaming friends all found bits they didn't like, so we never progressed any further. It's a personal perception & preference thing.

Reminder of my CoC trials with usual suspects years ago. 1st game: much like this. 2nd attempt: this + US officer KIA. No 3rd attempt. Crew underwhelmed & emphatic, not WW2 rules they wanted. I decided I was done with 28mm WW2. Back to Squad Leader & Retro rules for me. Certainly cheaper. #Wargaming

#INWarD2026 onwards. Last night digging of archives found all my old Ironclads & Ether Flyers notes & creations. QRS using Excel, Word docs of campaigns, info from long dead websites, maps & pics, etc. A nostalgic naval review in fact. As with other rules, wondered why we ever stopped? #Wargaming

Did Claymore (Edinburgh) yesterday. Only there a few hours but well worth it. Excellent games, really impressive set-ups & friendly welcomes from all involved, lots of invitations to join in. That's the way forward, inclusivity & encouragement. Might also have bought 'stuff' too. #Wargaming
