Throwback Thursday! Some photos from a bi-weekly goth, industrial, new wave, alternative club night that was held back in 2013, at The DL, in Manhattan, Dorian Gray. Sadly the party was eventually ended due to pressure from the local community board protesting the club night.

An editorial photograph with avant-garde cabaret and decadent burlesque aesthetics, captured in a dimly lit nightclub with deep crimson and warm magenta lighting. The image has a cinematic, sensual atmosphere with dramatic low-key illumination, soft highlights, and rich shadows that emphasize texture while maintaining a dreamy, glamorous mood. A shallow depth of field keeps the foreground subjects sharply defined while the geometric wall decorations and plush red seating dissolve into a soft blur.

Centered in the composition is a slender figure posed confidently with one long white satin opera-gloved hand pressed against the side of their face, creating an elegant, sculptural silhouette. They wear a short platinum-blonde bob wig with blunt bangs, adorned with pearl strands draped across the forehead, around the head, and cascading over one eye like delicate jewelry. Their expression is poised and enigmatic, lips slightly parted, gaze directed toward the camera.

The styling is extravagant and vintage-inspired: multiple oversized pearl necklaces layered around the neck and torso, long strands hanging to the waist, a pearl harness and hip belt replacing conventional clothing, white lace thigh-high stockings, and a voluminous white feather boa wrapped around the shoulders and arms. A metallic nipple piercing adds a modern edge to the otherwise classic glamour aesthetic.

Partially visible on the left is a second figure dressed in elaborate black gothic attire featuring lace, embroidery, a structured corset, dramatic eye makeup, pale complexion, and a dangling pearl cross earring. Their dark windswept hair creates dynamic movement, contrasting with the stillness of the central subject.

The background features softly blurred sacred geometry-inspired circular wall motifs in gold and muted red, contributing to an occult art-deco ambiance. Plush upholstered seating reinforces the luxurious nightclub setting.

A gothic nightlife photograph captured inside an ornate, dimly lit nightclub. Three people occupy the foreground behind a professional DJ booth. At center, a person faces the camera with a calm, confident expression, making direct eye contact. They wear a sleeveless white Victorian-inspired shirt featuring an elaborate ruffled front, accessorized with layered black beaded necklaces, bracelets, and visible arm tattoos. They hold an open black binder or book decorated with gothic and occult-style patches and stickers, giving the impression of reading lyrics, notes, or event material.

To the left, another person leans comfortably against the central figure with one arm around them. They have long dark red hair, dramatic winged black eyeliner, bold red lipstick, and a small black fascinator hat adorned with lace or feathers. Dressed entirely in black with layered necklaces, they hold a short tumbler glass containing a clear beverage and ice while gazing toward the camera with a relaxed, self-assured expression.

On the right, a DJ bends over the mixer in concentration, looking downward rather than at the camera. They wear black clothing, a sleeveless leather vest, wrist cuffs with metal studs, multiple rings, and over-ear headphones resting around the neck. One hand touches the chin while the other hovers near the DJ equipment.

The foreground contains professional media players and a central mixing console with illuminated buttons, LEDs, and faders. Behind the group, an elaborate decorative backdrop features gold-toned wrought-iron scrollwork and a dramatic oversized black bat doll mounted with fully extended wings. The bat's snarling face, visible fangs, and glowing eyes create a theatrical focal point above the central subject, reinforcing the venue's gothic aesthetic.

Just a week away from the new "Masters of the Universe" film, so here's a cosplay photo of a She-Ra cosplayer from this past Katsucon! Series: She-Ra | Princess of Power Character: She-Ra Cosplayer: mx.lavendermenace (IG) Playing catch-up on my photography queue! Had a bit of an editor's block!

A high-resolution cosplay photography portrait inspired by the classic 1980s Filmation "She-Ra: Princess of Power" design, featuring a cosplayer posed dramatically in a nighttime indoor garden atrium. They stands in a three-quarter back pose while looking over their shoulder toward the camera, holding an oversized Sword of Protection vertically at their side.

The costume closely recreates the vintage Filmation She-Ra aesthetic: a short white satin dress with gold trim, metallic gold arm cuffs, reflective thigh-high gold platform boots, a flowing crimson-red cape, and the iconic gold winged tiara with a central red gem. Long platinum blonde wavy hair cascades over her shoulders and back, styled with glamorous fantasy-inspired volume.

The makeup is theatrical and convention-style, with heavy false eyelashes, dramatic eyeliner, shimmering eyeshadow, sculpted brows, bright blush, and glossy lips, emphasizing a stylized retro-cartoon heroine appearance. Fishnet stockings add a modern cosplay adaptation while maintaining the fantasy-warrior silhouette.

The setting combines lush tropical plants, bamboo, and low landscaping against large blue-tinted glass windows, creating a cinematic convention-hotel atmosphere. Strong colored lighting creates a vivid synthwave-inspired contrast: cool blue ambient light from the left and warm orange-red uplighting from below and the right side. The lighting produces intense highlights on the metallic boots and sword, dramatic shadows in the foliage, and saturated color separation across the scene.

The sword is oversized and stylized rather than realistic, with smooth silver-gray surfaces, angular fantasy geometry, and a glowing blue jewel in the hilt, matching the exaggerated proportions of Filmation animation props. The overall composition feels nostalgic, theatrical, and campy in the best way, blending retro fantasy cartoon aesthetics with modern cosplay photography.

"We always said it would be you and me... Together at the end of the world." - Catra, She-Ra and The Princesses of Power Catra: Kimono (Tumblr) Adora: Jeweliah_ #CosplayPhotography #SheRa #Catra #Adora #Katsucon

A high-resolution outdoor cosplay photograph captures two people dressed as Catra and Force Captain Adora from She-Ra & The Princesses of Power, posed dramatically on a snowy shoreline beside calm water during golden hour. The image combines heroic character styling with a serene real-world waterfront setting, creating a contrast between fantasy costumes and natural scenery.

The two cosplayers are positioned prominently in the center-right of the frame. The Catra cosplayer stands tall in the rear, slightly behind and to the left of Adora, while the Adora cosplayer crouches in front with one knee raised, creating a layered, commanding composition. Their staggered poses add depth and emphasize a protector-and-warrior dynamic. The camera angle is slightly low, making both figures appear more statuesque and confident.

Took a quick break from Katsucon editing this past weekend, as I had a cosplay shoot out in Lancaster. I think I put about 450 miles on my car from Saturday alone! Happy 30th anniversary! Series: Nintendo | Pokemon Character: Vaporeon Cosplayer: CTRL Kitten #CosplayPhotography

The image features a Vaporeon gijinka cosplayer standing beside a claw machine filled with pastel pink plastic balls and green plush toys.

The cosplayer wears a teal-blue hooded cape dress trimmed with fluffy white faux fur, referencing Vaporeon’s aquatic features. The hood includes long, fin-like ears with white inner lining and a soft, plush texture. The dress is corset-laced at the front with white crisscross ribbon detailing, creating a fitted silhouette. She wears matching teal opera-length gloves and thigh-high stockings, both smooth and matte, paired with pastel-accented platform sneakers decorated with playful, colorful embellishments. White pom-pom details hang from the skirt hem, adding movement and softness.

Her wig is a vivid aqua blue, styled straight and framing her face beneath the hood. Makeup is soft yet defined, with subtle eyeliner and a glossy lip, enhancing a doll-like, anime-inspired aesthetic. She poses with one arm raised above her head, elbow bent, creating a dynamic S-curve in her posture, while the other hand rests near her chest in a delicate, playful gesture.

She carries a large tote bag covered in an all-over Pokémon print featuring multiple recognizable characters in bright, saturated colors. A purple Gengar plush with red eyes peeks out prominently from the top of the bag, adding contrast against the teal outfit.

The lighting is dominated by saturated neon reds, pinks, and cool cyan tones from the arcade machines, producing strong color contrast and reflective highlights on glass surfaces. The claw machine’s interior glow casts soft pink illumination on the lower part of the scene, while overhead lighting creates gentle highlights on the fur trim and wig. The dimensionality is fully three-dimensional and realistic, with crisp detail in textures - glass reflections, fabric fibers, plush toy surfaces, and patterned carpet visible in the background.

Some Fortnite cosplays from this past weekend at Katsucon! If you play, feel free to support me in-game with the use of my Creator Code in the item shop and/or the Epic Games Store: knightmare6 Zoey: @moonddxst.bsky.social Dusty: @izzyuuu.bsky.social Midas: IdolGutz (IG)

A high-resolution photograph in a contemporary character-portrait style, capturing a vibrant, candy-themed Zoey cosplay with sharp realism and studio-like clarity. The image features a young woman posed front-facing against a black metal lattice gate framed by a white architectural border, creating strong geometric contrast in the background.

The artistic style is modern cosplay photography with crisp detail, natural color accuracy, and balanced exposure. The theme centers on playful, candy-inspired battle royale aesthetics, faithfully referencing Zoey from Fortnite with exaggerated, sugary color schemes and whimsical costume elements.

The color palette is bold and saturated, dominated by hot pink and neon green. The cosplayer wears a bright pink cap with a small candy emblem on the front, paired with vivid green twin pigtails styled into high, playful bunches. Her hoodie is an intense bubblegum pink with green trim outlining the neckline and seams. The midsection features decorative, candy-like circular appliqués in multiple bright colors (yellow, orange, blue, purple), arranged like gumdrops. The skirt is short and flared with alternating pink and lighter pink vertical stripes, finished along the hem with small, colorful pom-pom accents resembling candy drops. She wears gray leggings with darker gray diagonal striping, adding a sporty, tactical contrast to the sugary top.

The pose is playful and expressive: she raises one hand to her forehead, forming an “L” shape with her fingers, while tilting her head slightly and offering a subtle, mischievous smile. Her other arm rests casually at her side. The posture is relaxed yet energetic, embodying Zoey’s quirky, teasing personality. Black backpack straps are visible over her shoulders, reinforcing the in-game character’s battle-ready look.

A high-resolution photograph in a contemporary, lifestyle photography style, capturing a Dusty “Away Game” cosplay with naturalistic lighting and shallow depth of field.

The theme centers on sporty streetwear with a rebellious, competitive edge, reflecting Dusty’s athletic yet punk-inspired aesthetic from Fortnite’s Away Game outfit. The overall mood is calm, confident, and slightly introspective.

The color scheme contrasts soft neutrals with bold accents. The background is pale gray and softly blurred, composed of large square window panes that create a structured geometric pattern. The cosplayer’s outfit introduces darker tones - primarily black and charcoal - punctuated by bright pink and small pops of color. She wears a black, pinstriped baseball-style jersey with thin white vertical lines and subtle pink stitching along the sleeves. Underneath, a vivid hot pink crop top features a stylized white skull graphic, adding a playful yet edgy visual focal point.

Her hair is a pastel pink shade, styled in a slightly tousled, layered cut that frames her face and tucks beneath a light gray baseball cap. The cap includes small graphic patches, reinforcing the sporty gamer theme. Accessories enhance the character accuracy: layered bracelets in neon and purple tones, a beaded necklace with a circular pendant, and visible facial piercings (including a septum ring and lip piercings), which emphasize the rebellious, street-inspired personality of the character.

The pose is relaxed yet expressive: she leans her elbow on a white ledge, resting her chin against her hand in a thoughtful stance. Her gaze is directed slightly off-camera, suggesting focus or contemplation. Her opposite hand rests at her hip, reinforcing a confident, self-assured posture. The composition feels candid but intentional, as if taken during a styled photoshoot at a convention center or modern public building.

A high-resolution photograph, capturing an Ascendant Midas cosplay from Fortnite with dramatic presence and strong metallic detailing. The image is composed as a waist-up portrait against a softly blurred industrial window grid, creating a neutral, geometric backdrop that contrasts with the ornate costume.

The artistic style blends realistic cosplay photography with subtle fantasy-warrior aesthetics. The theme centers on a regal, ascended anti-hero figure - dark, powerful, and gilded - faithfully reflecting Ascendant Midas’ gold-infused dominance and mythic authority from the game.

The color palette is primarily monochromatic with bold metallic gold accents. Matte grays and charcoal blacks dominate the armor and clothing, while rich, brushed gold elements create strong visual contrast. The chest armor is sculpted in light gray with engraved detailing and a central gold emblem. Gold shoulder plates, a gold crown-like headpiece with upward spikes, and a wide gold belt featuring a sculpted face motif reinforce the character’s regal, commanding identity. A black cape drapes over one shoulder, adding depth and dramatic silhouette.

The cosplayer wears short, tousled dark hair styled in a slightly windswept fashion. One eye appears pale or white, creating an ethereal, supernatural effect that enhances the ascended theme. Makeup is muted but sharp, with defined brows and subtle contouring that adds intensity to the gaze. The expression is stern and composed, projecting calm authority.

In the right hand, the cosplayer holds a highly detailed gold prop weapon with intricate mechanical sculpting and layered textures, echoing Midas’ signature golden transformation theme. In the other hand, a gold dagger rests near the hip, partially sheathed, reinforcing the battle-ready stance. The metallic surfaces appear weathered and textured, suggesting forged metal rather than polished shine.

"One stump high and ten stumps tall! Bandle Gunners show 'em all!" Series: League of Legends Character: Tristana Cosplayer: shadow.wing.designs #CosplayPhotography #Katsucon

A high-quality cosplay photograph with cinematic, shallow-depth-of-field photography, depicting a Tristana cosplayer, from league of Legends, in an action pose.

The image is a realistic digital photograph, with sharp subject focus and a softly blurred background, creating strong visual separation. The artistic style is cinematic cosplay photography with fantasy realism, combining practical costume design and prop work with dramatic lighting and motion effects. The theme centers on fantasy combat and character embodiment, capturing the playful yet fierce energy of Tristana in a dynamic, in-character moment.

The cosplayer is crouched low to the ground in a forward-leaning stance, one arm extended toward the camera as if commanding or attacking. Her expression is confident and mischievous, with a slight grin and focused eyes, reinforcing the character’s bold personality. She has vivid purple skin makeup with smooth, even coverage, pointed elf-like ears, and short, bright magenta-pink hair styled in a slightly tousled bob. Large yellow goggles with blue lenses rest on her head, a defining Tristana accessory.

In the foreground, a small, orange-colored, dragon-like creature lunges forward, resembling a fire-infused creature with orange and brown tones. Its mouth glows intensely with bright orange and yellow light, enhanced by motion blur and smoke effects that suggest heat or flame. The motion blur around the creature adds energy and a sense of action, contrasting with the sharply focused cosplayer.

Wayback Wednesday post to ten years ago at the Katsucon of 2016! Find me all weekend next week for the two badge ribbons I'll have (while supplies last!) Series: Blizzard Entertainment | Diablo Character: Tyrael Cosplayer: Silver Ice Dragon Cosplay #CosplayPhotography

A cosplay photograph with cinematic lighting and shallow depth of field, capturing a Tyrael cosplayer, the archangel warrior from the Diablo game universe in a dynamic, heroic stance.

The artistic style blends fantasy realism with polished cosplay photography, emphasizing craftsmanship, metallic textures, and dramatic visual contrast. The theme centers on divine power and celestial warfare, expressed through ornate armor, glowing energy effects, and a faceless, mysterious presence that evokes an otherworldly being rather than a human identity.

The cosplayer wears gold-and-bronze plate armor with intricate engraved filigree and angelic motifs. Large, layered pauldrons resemble stylized feathers, reinforcing the archangel aesthetic. The chest piece features a radiant central emblem shaped like a sunburst or holy sigil, appearing to glow softly. A white hooded cowl drapes over the head, completely obscuring the face in deep black shadow, creating a void-like silhouette that enhances the supernatural feel. Flowing white fabric elements hang from the waist, contrasting with the heavy metallic armor and adding movement.

In the right hand, the figure holds a long, blue-tinted sword with a luminous edge, angled diagonally forward in a combat-ready pose. From the back, ethereal, ribbon-like arcs of glowing blue energy extend outward, simulating spectral wings. These energy trails are bright neon blue with subtle gradients and motion blur, giving the impression of living light and divine power.

The color scheme is dominated by rich golds and warm metallic tones, contrasted by cool electric blues from the sword and energy wings, and neutral whites from the robe. The lighting is warm and directional, highlighting armor edges and engravings with sharp specular highlights, while soft shadows add depth and volume. The background is softly blurred, showing an indoor convention or hotel ballroom environment with warm ceiling lights, ensuring the subject remains the focal point.

Some more #CosplayPhotography from New York Comic Con! Catching up on my NYCC photo queue after finishing up photos from the Saturday Marvel Rivals cosplay meet-up! Maelle: @makermage.bsky.social Ciri: PpandorasBoxx Baroness: @paralllaxus.bsky.social Poison Ivy: CharlotteW1tch

A high-resolution photograph taken at a convention center shows a cosplayer portraying Maelle from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The setting is a bright, modern indoor space with polished gray floors, glass railings, and a crowd of attendees in the background. The cosplayer stands in a dynamic pose, holding a long ornate sword pointed toward the camera, with her body slightly turned and her other arm extended backward in a poised, combative stance. Her expression is intense and focused, matching the dramatic action-oriented posture.

She wears a detailed costume composed of a fitted black military-style jacket with structured shoulders, trimmed in white and gold embroidery, and decorated with elaborate golden patterns on the right shoulder piece. The jacket features purple and black panels, vertical white piping, and a high collar, evoking a regal yet practical adventurer’s design. A pair of dark fitted pants, accented with a white thigh strap and a brown leg belt, complements the top. She wears high black leather boots that reach above the knee, emphasizing both style and function. The belt around her waist includes metallic accents and small chains, enhancing the costume’s ornate look.

Her red hair is styled in a short, layered cut with a slight wave, and she wears natural but defined makeup that accentuates her eyes. The lighting in the scene is diffuse and natural, coming from the overhead glass structure, casting even illumination that enhances the fabric textures and metallic highlights on her costume and weapon. The background, slightly out of focus, helps emphasize the cosplayer as the central figure, creating a vivid, lifelike portrait of a character brought to life with precision and craftsmanship.

A high-resolution photograph of a cosplayer portraying Ciri from The Witcher series, captured in a dramatic and realistic style. The composition centers the figure from the waist up, with the background showing an urban outdoor setting slightly out of focus, allowing the intricate costume details to dominate the frame. The cosplayer strikes a confident pose, holding a sword over her shoulder with one hand while gazing directly into the camera with a calm but fierce expression that embodies Ciri’s strength and determination.

The costume is a highly detailed recreation of Ciri’s battle attire, featuring layered fabrics and leather armor. A hooded cloak with a dark brown fur lining frames her face and drapes over her shoulders. Beneath it, a quilted gray gambeson is reinforced with brown leather straps and belts, each fitted with metal buckles and rivets, creating a rugged, handcrafted aesthetic. The white undershirt, partially open at the collar, adds a touch of softness while revealing a silver wolf medallion resting against her chest - a key symbol of her Witcher heritage.

Her long, platinum-white hair is styled in a thick braid that falls over one shoulder, with a few loose strands framing her face. The makeup is subtle but precise, emphasizing her natural features with light contouring and pale tones that complement her striking hair color. A faint scar is visible on her cheek, enhancing the authenticity of the portrayal.

The sword, a distinctive part of Ciri’s character, has a metallic finish and is held confidently, the grip positioned behind her head as if ready for battle. The lighting is natural and diffused, casting soft shadows that highlight the textures of the costume - the roughness of leather, the sheen of metal, and the matte quality of the fabric. The overall mood is intense and immersive, evoking the gritty realism and fantasy atmosphere of The Witcher universe while showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and character embodiment.

A high-quality photograph of a cosplayer dressed as Poison Ivy from the movie Batman & Robin. The image captures the subject from the knees up, set against a neutral concrete background that enhances the vivid colors of the costume. The cosplayer is posed blowing a kiss toward the camera, adding a playful and seductive energy to the composition, characteristic of the character’s persona.

The costume consists of a fitted, light green bodysuit with long sleeves, transitioning into deep green gloves that reach past the elbows. The lower half features tight, shiny green leggings with a glittering waistband, accentuated by a large decorative leaf placed at the waistline. The outfit incorporates leaf motifs throughout, reinforcing the botanical theme central to Poison Ivy’s design.

The cosplayer’s hair is a striking shade of deep red with bright crimson highlights, styled into two large, twisted horn-like buns on top while the rest flows down over the shoulders. The makeup is elaborate, with golden leaf-like adornments framing the eyes and shimmering gold and green tones accentuating the eyelids. Red lipstick completes the look, matching the hair and contributing to the bold, seductive aesthetic.

Lighting is soft and even, creating gentle shadows that emphasize the glossy textures of the costume and the metallic gleam of the makeup. The photograph’s overall color palette is dominated by shades of green, red, and gold, echoing the natural yet dangerous allure associated with Poison Ivy. The composition is well-balanced, with the subject centered and the background slightly blurred, keeping full attention on the detailed costume and expressive pose.

Spider-Man Noir, on the left, wears an all-black costume consisting of a trench coat, tactical pants, gloves, and boots. His mask is dark and textured, with large white lenses that create a striking contrast against the matte black fabric. A wide-brimmed fedora completes the noir-inspired aesthetic, enhancing the detective-era silhouette. His pose is aggressive and forward-leaning, one arm extended outward as though about to shoot a web, creating a strong sense of momentum.

Beside him, Spider-Gwen stands in a complementary stance, her body slightly twisted to mirror his dynamic energy. Her full-body suit is sleek and form-fitting, predominantly white with black and magenta accents. The hood, lined in vivid red with a web pattern, is pulled over her head, framing the smooth white mask with pink eye outlines that give her a stylized and modern appearance. The red web design continues along the inner sleeves, contrasting against the cool tones of the rest of the costume.

The photograph is sharply focused, capturing the fine details of the fabrics and accessories, while the neutral metallic background enhances the bold color contrast between the two costumes. The lighting is soft and diffused, evenly illuminating both characters without harsh shadows, giving the image a polished, cinematic quality. The overall composition conveys a strong sense of partnership and readiness, embodying the heroic, comic-book energy of the Spider-Verse.

A high-resolution photograph showcasing a reimagining of the Silver Surfer character from Marvel Comics as a glamorous prom queen titled “Miss Herald.” The cosplayer’s appearance is rendered in striking metallic silver tones, from the body paint covering her skin to the reflective materials of her costume, while infusing it with a pageant-inspired aesthetic. Her face and exposed skin are evenly coated in smooth silver paint, highlighted with shimmer that catches the light, giving a luminous, almost ethereal glow. Her long, wavy hair, also silver, flows down her shoulders, blending seamlessly into the monochromatic theme.

She wears a corseted bodice made of mirrored or metallic fabric, structured and glossy, reflecting the ambient light of the convention space. The lower part of the outfit continues in a silver, floor-length skirt with subtle draping that mimics both the elegance of a formal gown and the fluid, otherworldly aesthetic associated with the cosmic character. Across her torso is a white satin sash that reads “MISS HERALD” in bold black letters, referencing the Silver Surfer’s role as a herald of Galactus while humorously adapting it to the context of a beauty pageant.

Completing the look is a pair of long, silver gloves that extend up her arms, maintaining the seamless metallic texture. She holds a large bouquet wrapped in matte black paper, with silver roses crafted from metallic material, adding a contrast that enhances the polished theme. Atop her head rests a geometric silver crown composed of angular, reflective shapes, evoking futuristic or celestial motifs rather than traditional pageant tiaras.

The setting is a brightly lit convention hall, with natural and artificial light sources reflecting off her costume, creating dynamic highlights and emphasizing the chrome-like finish. The background is slightly blurred, filled with attendees and bustling activity, allowing the cosplayer’s luminous presence to stand out as the focal point.

A photograph depicting a detailed and gruesome zombified Captain America cosplayer inspired by the Marvel Zombies series, standing in a convention hall, surrounded by a blurred crowd, under bright indoor lighting that accentuates the grimy textures and decayed details of the costume. The cosplayer’s appearance is a haunting reinterpretation of Captain America, blending the patriotic uniform with horrific, undead elements.

The armor and suit are tattered, darkened with layers of fake blood, dirt, and burn marks. The once-bright red, white, and blue colors are muted to desaturated, rusted tones of maroon, brown, and gray-blue, with cracks and gory textures across the chest and limbs. The iconic star emblem on the chest is faded and partially smeared, evoking a battle-worn, corrupted version of the hero’s symbol. His helmet is cracked, revealing a grotesque, zombified face beneath - the exposed teeth and hollow, decaying flesh are painted with meticulous realism, featuring deep shadows, reddish wounds, and darkened eye sockets that give a menacing undead stare.

In his right hand, the cosplayer holds Captain America’s iconic shield, distressed with scratches, dents, and a blood-spattered surface that retains faint traces of the star and circular design. In his left hand, he raises a macabre improvised weapon - a long spear-like staff constructed from a metal pole adorned with grim details. Attached to it are multiple sculpted heads and weathered street signs, including rusted “ONE WAY” and “DEAD END” signs, splattered with dark stains to heighten the apocalyptic tone. At the top of the staff sits the severed, zombified head of Spider-Man, complete with tattered mask remnants, hollow eyes, and exposed, gruesome features, crafted to appear shockingly lifelike.

In the middle of my NYCC cosplay photographer's con crunch now, LOL! Some photography from this past weekend's New York Comic Con! TRON Programs: Sam Mathias & Alex Villatoro Black Cat: @abbyandrew.bsky.social The Mask/Stanley Ipkiss: @tjcoolness.bsky.social Sonic the Hedgehog: LemonPencil

A high-resolution photograph of two cosplayers dressed in futuristic, Tron-inspired armor, standing in a neon-lit environment that glows with vibrant purples, blues, and pinks. The setting features geometric light panels and a neon sign behind them that reinforces the cyberpunk aesthetic. Both cosplayers wear elaborate armored suits with illuminated edges, mechanical detailing, and sleek, high-tech designs that evoke the visual language of a digital or virtual world.

The cosplayer on the left wears a primarily white armor set with angular plates covering the shoulders, arms, and legs, all edged with vivid purple-white LED light strips. Their helmet features pointed ear-like extensions and a translucent visor integrated with glowing circuitry. The armor reveals their midriff, adding a contrast between organic and mechanical elements. Their stance is dynamic, with one leg bent forward and fists raised as if ready for action, the body posture exuding confidence and energy under the ultraviolet light.

The cosplayer on the right wears a darker, metallic suit with deep black and violet tones accented by similar bright neon lines tracing the contours of the armor. Their costume includes shoulder plates, gauntlets, and greaves, all designed with intricate futuristic symbols and segmented textures that give the impression of an advanced exosuit. They stand with one hip slightly tilted, a hand resting on the hip, and the other arm bent back in a sleek, assertive pose.

The overall scene glows with an electric intensity, the LED elements casting luminous reflections across the shiny surfaces of the armor and the floor. The lighting design and reflective materials create a three-dimensional, immersive effect that enhances the illusion of being inside a digital or cybernetic environment. The image conveys a powerful sense of sci-fi fantasy, blending high fashion, robotics, and neon aesthetics into a striking, cinematic composition.

A high-resolution cosplay photograph capturing a cosplayer dressed as Black Cat from Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man series.

The image is taken in a warmly lit indoor environment, likely at a convention, with golden sunlight streaming in and casting soft highlights across the subject’s face and costume. The cosplayer wears a sleek, form-fitting black leather catsuit with a glossy sheen that reflects the light, emphasizing the smooth texture of the material. The suit features white faux-fur trim around the collar and cuffs, contrasting sharply against the dark outfit. A black corset with metallic grommets cinches the waist, enhancing the character’s silhouette and adding an element of elegance and strength.

Her long, platinum-blonde wig flows past her shoulders, styled in loose waves that catch the light. She wears a black, cat-shaped mask with a matte finish that frames her eyes and adds a mysterious allure. Her makeup is subtle yet refined, with soft pink lips and highlighted cheekbones that glow under the warm sunlight. The pose is confident and flirtatious - one gloved hand resting on her hip while the other touches her face delicately, evoking the seductive and self-assured personality of the Black Cat character.

The background is softly blurred, featuring other convention attendees and warm tones that complement the golden-hour lighting.

The overall composition emphasizes the cosplayer’s poise and costume details, creating a cinematic, three-dimensional look with vivid contrast between the shimmering blacks and luminous whites. The image captures both the glamour and danger associated with Black Cat’s persona, showcasing high photographic quality, dynamic lighting, and a professional, editorial aesthetic.

A high-resolution photograph taken at a convention shows a cosplayer dressed as Stanley Ipkiss from The Mask comic book series and film adaptation. The individual stands in a playful pose, balancing on one leg with the other bent back, simulating a running pose, while grinning widely while holding a white drawstring money bag emblazoned with a large black dollar sign. Peeking out of the bag is a small plush toy, adding a humorous touch to the composition.

The costume is instantly recognizable: a bright yellow zoot suit with exaggerated lapels, wide-legged trousers, and a matching fedora hat adorned with a tall, black-and-yellow striped feather. Under the jacket, the cosplayer wears a crisp white shirt and a black-and-white polka-dotted tie that complements a matching pocket square neatly tucked into the breast pocket. The face is painted a vivid green, replicating the signature look of the character when transformed by the magical mask, with expressive makeup highlighting the eyes and mouth to emphasize a cartoonish, mischievous expression.

The photograph captures this figure in sharp focus against a softly blurred background of a bustling convention hall, where other attendees and colorful posters fill the space with energy and movement. The lighting is natural and even, illuminating the glossy yellow of the suit and the bright green of the face paint, producing a polished and vibrant visual effect. The overall scene evokes a sense of animated exuberance, humor, and nostalgia, perfectly channeling the over-the-top, comic-inspired charm of The Mask.

A high-resolution photograph captures a dynamic gijinka cosplay of Sonic the Hedgehog, the iconic character from the self-titled video game series. The cosplayer is crouched low in a running stance, evoking the character’s speed and energy, with one hand touching the reflective floor and the other raised forward. The costume features a vivid electric-blue wig styled into long, voluminous spikes resembling Sonic’s quills, complete with small blue and black ears protruding from the top. The outfit consists of a blue athletic-style jumpsuit paired with a white collar and white knitted arm warmers that mimic Sonic’s gloves. The cosplayer wears bright red sneakers with white laces and soles, matching Sonic’s trademark shoes from the game.

The lighting in the photo is bright and natural, streaming from an overhead source and casting soft reflections on the glossy floor, enhancing the vivid blue tones of the costume and the texture of the wig. The background is slightly blurred, depicting a bustling convention setting with other attendees in costumes, creating a lively atmosphere that emphasizes the subject’s central position. The overall composition highlights movement, energy, and character embodiment, while the crisp focus on the cosplayer and their expressive pose conveys both playfulness and confidence.

A dynamic cosplay photograph of a cosplayer portraying Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters. The cosplayer wears a sleek, fitted white outfit consisting of a sleeveless crop top and high-waisted shorts, accessorized with a delicate gold chain belt that drapes elegantly across the hip. Her look is accentuated by striking purple body markings painted onto her arms and face, glowing against her light skin and enhancing the mystical, battle-ready aesthetic of the character.

Her hair is styled in a vivid lavender updo, matching the vibrant, oversized sword she carries over her shoulder. The sword is a standout feature: an exaggerated, fantasy-style weapon with a gradient blade that shifts from pastel pink to electric blue, with subtle designs etched into its surface and a gold, ornate hilt that adds a regal touch. Some more #CosplayPhotography from Anime NYC 2025 Series: Capcom | Street Fighter Character: Vega Cosplayer: DannyzFilms Series: Soul Eater Character: Maka Albarn Cosplayer: QTPie Cosplay Series: Marvel Comics | Avengers Character: Black Widow Cosplayer: @cosplay-tory.bsky.social

A photograph of a Vega cosplayer from Capcom’s Street Fighter series captures the character’s signature elegance and menace with striking accuracy. The cosplayer is posed dramatically, holding a white mask close to his face while glaring toward the camera, evoking Vega’s mysterious and flamboyant persona. Prominently featured are Vega’s trademark claw weapons, three long metallic blades extending outward from a golden handguard strapped to his right hand, enhancing the dangerous aura of the character.

The costume consists of loose-fitting purple pants with a yellow stripe running down the side, tied at the waist with a bright red sash that drapes naturally, adding movement and contrast to the darker tones. His upper body is bare, showcasing muscular definition, with purple diagonal markings painted across the chest and shoulder to replicate the fighter’s design. Golden accessories complete the look: a twisted armlet around the bicep and an ornate wrist cuff with engraved patterns, both glinting under the venue lights.

The cosplayer’s long, curly hair is left loose, framing his face and enhancing the theatrical presence that Vega is known for. The background shows a bustling convention hall, slightly blurred to keep the attention focused on the cosplayer, though the reflections on the polished floor and the presence of other attendees add context to the setting. The lighting is bright and even, illuminating the details of the costume, mask, and claw, while also highlighting the cosplayer’s strong expression and physicality. The overall photograph conveys Vega’s duality of grace and lethality with vivid authenticity.

A photograph of a Maka Albarn cosplayer from the anime series Soul Eater captured outdoors in strong golden-hour sunlight, which highlights the character’s distinct appearance and details of the costume. The cosplayer is dressed in a black long-tailed coat with white cuffs and a white collared shirt underneath, worn loosely with one side of the shirt untucked for a casual, battle-ready effect. A green striped tie, partially undone and asymmetrically knotted, hangs around the neck, paired with a yellow vest underneath, adding layered textures to the outfit. The lower half of the costume features a red plaid pleated skirt, characteristic of Maka’s school uniform design, with the bright red tones strongly contrasting against the dark coat and the green foliage in the background.

The cosplayer’s hair is styled in two messy pigtails, echoing Maka’s signature look, with strands falling across the forehead, catching the warm light. In her hands, she holds a large scythe prop, easily identifiable as Soul in weapon form, painted black with jagged red patterns running along the blade and a stylized eye design near the base. The scythe’s exaggerated size and bold colors make it the focal point of the composition, leaning diagonally across her body and down toward the ground. Black combat boots complete the look, grounding the costume in a practical yet striking style.

The background consists of lush green bushes and plants, contrasting with the dark and vibrant colors of the cosplay, while the low sunlight creates strong shadows across the cosplayer’s face and clothing, emphasizing dimensionality and drama. The overall photograph captures the essence of Maka Albarn with accuracy, balancing a realistic portrayal with the dramatic flair of anime styling, and is of high quality, with sharp focus and vibrant tones.

A photograph of a Black Widow cosplayer from Marvel Comics shows a striking and dynamic pose, captured with a strong sense of intensity. The cosplayer stands in a sleek, form-fitting bodysuit patterned with subtle swirling black textures that add depth to the costume, emphasizing the character’s stealth and tactical nature. The suit features bold red accents, including a large stylized spider emblem across the chest made of reflective material that catches the light, giving it a metallic sheen. A belt of oversized, glossy red discs encircles the waist, echoing the comic-inspired design of Black Widow’s gear. Matching red wrist cuffs with raised segments enhance the costume’s combat-ready aesthetic, reinforcing the balance between elegance and lethality.

The cosplayer wears a vibrant, straight red wig with full bangs, the bright tone of the hair contrasting vividly against the dark costume and creating an eye-catching visual. Her makeup is sharp and defined, with pale skin, dark lipstick, and piercing green eyes that add intensity to her expression. She holds a black handgun extended directly toward the camera, creating a sense of immediacy and confrontation, while her other hand rests on her hip in a confident, commanding stance.

The background is slightly out of focus, featuring a neutral-toned architectural corridor with smooth walls and a polished floor, which draws full attention to the cosplayer. The soft blur of the environment contrasts with the crisp detail of the costume, hair, and weapon, emphasizing her as the focal point. The lighting is even and diffuse, highlighting the reflective red elements of the outfit while maintaining the stealthy look of the dark bodysuit. The overall photograph conveys both the dangerous allure and the determined presence of Black Widow, captured with cinematic clarity and precision.

"That reason is as compelling as rat shit in the bathroom, and it will be your demise." Series: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Character: Dio Brando Cosplayer: @zaxiade.bsky.social #AnimeNYC #CosplayPhotography

A cosplayer dressed as Dio Brando from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is captured in a dynamic and exaggerated pose that mirrors the flamboyant energy of the character. The costume is striking and immediately recognizable, consisting of a shiny golden-yellow outfit with a fitted black undershirt that emphasizes contrast and highlights the bold color palette iconic to Dio. The pants and jacket are crafted from a satin-like fabric that reflects sunlight, giving the costume a dramatic sheen. Green accents are carefully incorporated throughout the outfit: a bright metallic green belt with a heart-shaped buckle at the center, straps hanging from the waist, and knee guards shaped like hearts, all of which enhance the visual vibrancy of the design.

The footwear consists of metallic gold boots that match the glossy tone of the pants and further emphasize the luxurious, powerful aesthetic of the character. The cosplayer wears a striking blond wig styled into voluminous, spiky hair, with a bright green headband tied across the forehead, which helps frame the face and completes Dio’s distinctive look. The makeup is subtle yet effective, with dark eyebrows, carefully done eyeliner, and contact lenses that make the eyes appear more intense, adding to the character’s menacing charisma.

The pose is particularly expressive, with the cosplayer leaning backward in a dramatic stance, chest forward, arms outstretched, and one hand clutching a set of throwing knives, a weapon closely associated with Dio. This theatrical gesture conveys a sense of arrogance, confidence, and over-the-top flamboyance, which are key traits of the villain. The bright sunlight enhances the gleaming textures of the fabric and metallic details, casting sharp shadows that highlight the bold angles of the pose. The setting appears to be outdoors in an urban environment, near an escalator, though the focus remains on the costume and the performer’s larger-than-life presence.

She wears the iconic Senketsu outfit, a bold and revealing battle uniform designed with a mix of futuristic and school-uniform aesthetics. The costume is primarily black with glossy, almost leather-like material, contrasted by vibrant red and yellow details. Its exaggerated collar juts outward with sharp edges, framing her upper body, while the cropped design leaves her midriff exposed. In her hands, she grips the massive red Scissor Blade, an oversized weapon that is both menacing and striking in appearance. "You both keep assuming that I want out, whatever that is. If it’s such a wonderful place out there, why are you all clamoring to get in here?" Series: Westworld Character: Dolores Abernathy Cosplayer: Susan Coffey #CosplayPhotography

This cosplay portrait offers a striking and intimate depiction of Dolores Abernathy, embodying her poised strength and quiet determination. The subject is kneeling gracefully, holding a brown cowboy hat close to her chest with one hand while gazing directly at the camera with a composed, piercing expression. Her costume reflects Dolores’s recognizable early-series attire: a striped button-down shirt tucked into beige riding trousers, cinched with a rugged brown belt that supports a leather gun holster - housing a visibly classic revolver at her side. A soft blue floral bandana is tied around her neck, complementing her long, styled golden-blonde hair that curls gently over her shoulders. The setting appears urban but subdued, with sleek concrete benches and tufts of ornamental grass, creating a clean contrast that accentuates the Western attire and character. A warm, subtle light glow flares into the corner of the image, enhancing the cinematic tone and giving the portrait a quiet sense of narrative depth - suggestive of Dolores on the verge of choice or confrontation.

Hasbro Generations Selects Titan Black Zarak with DNA Design's DK-33 upgrade kit, the Shockwave Labs' SL-123 and SL-124 upgrade kits, ToyHax/Repolabels' stickers, and the ZX Studios' pincer claw upgrade. [Transformers: Super God MasterForce, the rebirth of the Decepticon Headmaster, Scorponok]

An action figure, Black Zarak, from the Transformers anime series, Super God Master Force. The action figure is standing atop a white step ladder at the top step, a gold-spiked tail rising behind it, over its head. It's right arm is raised towards the camera, the hand replaced by a robotic, scorpion-like pincer as purple light glows from within, reflected on the pincer's tips. The left arm is raised and angled close to its body, a golden shield attached to the pincer claw, as if in a defensive position.

"If I wasn't such a genius and didn't have such a positive energetic personality, this situation would really be unbearable!" Series: Dragon Ball Z Character: Bulma Brief Cosplayer: TheSwitched Up #CosplayPhotography

This vivid cosplay photo features a striking portrayal of Bulma from the Dragon Ball Z series, captured at a Kalahari Resorts waterpark.

The cosplayer kneels in shallow pool water, confidently posing with arms raised above her head, emphasizing a powerful, poised expression that channels Bulma’s iconic confidence and intelligence. Her vibrant teal wig, styled with volume and a blunt fringe, is adorned with a signature oversized red bow that instantly identifies the character. The pastel pink bikini, with crisscrossing straps and ruching detail, nods to Bulma’s stylish and playful fashion sense in the series, while the lavender scarf adds a fun and faithful accessory element. Around her waist, a functional belt with attached aqua pouch recalls her adventurous Capsule Corp. gear. The soft lighting enhances her features, and the background signage and water give it an immersive tropical-meets-indoor aesthetic. Delicate tattoos and jewelry add a personal artistic layer, blending character accuracy with the cosplayer’s individuality.

The need to do some beach shoots this summer! Also debating on a day trip out to Colossalcon East, probably on a Saturday, though may skip the water park. Series: Teddyloid | Me! Me! Me! Character: Dancer Cosplayer: Im.Renna #CosplayPhotography

This photograph showcases a stylized, swimsuit version cosplay of one of the dancers from Teddyloid's music video, "Me! Me! Me!," which is in dramatic lighting and added flair in an arcade setting. The cosplayer leans seductively against a brightly lit claw machine, positioned under intense neon and LED lighting that casts a vivid purple and pink glow throughout the scene. The entire image is bathed in warm, electric hues, giving it a distinctly cyberpunk or nightlife atmosphere.

The cosplay centers around a light blue and white striped bikini, tied at the neck and hips, aplayful and bold swimwear interpretation. The cosplayer’s wig is a striking lavender or pastel purple tone, cut into thick bangs and long straight lengths that add an ethereal twist to the character. The expression is calm and sultry, fitting the dreamy, surreal ambiance of the environment. Heavy eye makeup and a silver septum ring enhance the cosplayer’s sharp and alternative look, maintaining an edgy persona.

Another photo from @bhphoto.com's BILD Expo on Wednesday, June 18th, at one of the Gradus Gear backdrop set-ups Model: Sydney Elizabeth

The photograph captures a poised young woman inside a subway car, bathed in a dramatic wash of neon pink and purple lighting that gives the scene a vibrant, editorial atmosphere. She stands in front of a subway window with a metallic frame, and her body is slightly leaned back against a metal pole, creating a relaxed yet confident pose. The backdrop includes a sign that reads “Air Conditioned Car, Please close windows,” emphasizing the urban setting while juxtaposing the high-fashion tone of the image.

She wears a soft, off-white blouse with a deep V neckline and a wrap-style silhouette that fits snugly at the waist. The blouse’s standout feature is the exaggerated bell sleeves, adorned with bold, embroidered motifs that resemble abstract floral or tribal patterns in black, red, blue, and yellow. These patterns inject a burst of artistic expression into her minimalist top. Her pants are high-waisted and sharply tailored in a mustard-yellow color, with center seams that elongate the legs and emphasize the structured fit, adding a refined, retro-modern edge to the overall ensemble.

Her styling includes a glossy, deep-red silk scarf tied neatly around her neck in a bow, contributing a sophisticated, vintage-inspired touch. Large, ornate drop earrings glint subtly under the lights, enhancing her glamorous yet accessible look. Her hair falls in soft, voluminous waves around her shoulders, framing her face elegantly. Her expression is confident and slightly playful, with a hint of a smile that softens the directness of her gaze.

The lighting is vivid and deliberately stylized, casting pink and purple hues across her clothes and skin, creating a surreal, cinematic effect. It adds dimension to the otherwise flat, metallic textures of the subway environment.

Checked out the second day of the BILD Expo 2025, from @bhphoto.com, at Jacob Javits. Won a mini-flash from @godox.bsky.social, an iM20! One of the models at the Viltrox booth, shot using one of the light stands. Ordered two tube lights from Neewer after playing with them. Model: Savannah Vinson

A female model strikes a bold, expressive pose against a plain, light-colored background, creating a striking contrast with her dark attire. She wears a modern black pantsuit that blends classic tailoring with avant-garde design. The blazer features a sharply structured silhouette with a tailored waist and a single button closure. A notable detail is the side cutout on the torso, which adds an element of edginess and asymmetry to the otherwise traditional jacket. The trousers are loose-fitting and high-waisted, draping fluidly and maintaining the sleek, minimalist aesthetic.

Her pose is dynamic and theatrical - one arm bent with the hand resting on her hip, while the other arm is raised above her head with her fingers extended in a stylized gesture, suggesting movement and attitude. Her head is tilted slightly upward, and her eyes gaze past the camera, conveying confidence and poise. Her facial expression is calm but intense, with slightly parted lips and a strong jawline.

She has shoulder-length, wavy blonde hair styled in loose, voluminous layers that frame her face naturally. Her makeup is clean and polished, with a subtle glow on her skin and well-defined features, emphasizing her eyes and lips without overpowering the minimalist feel of the overall look. The lighting is even and soft, casting minimal shadows and ensuring the textures of the fabric and the contours of her face and body are clearly visible. The overall composition is fashion-forward and editorial in tone, highlighting the interplay between strong tailoring and feminine elegance.
