Yesterday, we celebrated the last day of summer (6 Oct, this is fine) with walkies along the lakeside at Bewl Water. Paws got wet but the swimming lessons last weekend did not inspire any further swimming. #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi

Canis lupus pembrokensis, standing on a long, dried mud beach with the lake and a bit of water processing machinery visible in the background. There are ducks standing in the water just off the beach. The weather is quite nice.

Still not completely dry after her swim, but *completely* knackered. #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi

AHOY MARINE BIOLOGISTS! We have discovered a VERY DANGEROUS new shark species: Carcharadon Pembrokensis! We went for swimming lessons at the Canine Dip and Dive today, and it turns out Corgis are very competent, if reluctant, swimmers. #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi

Big walkies along the Bewl Water dam. The view over the lake from the dam wall is spectacular and she was so excited by it. She was especially curious about the fishing boats on the lake and whether they'd come ashore and make friends. #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi

Canis lupus pembrokensis, looking out over a big lake that extends nearly to the horizon from atop a dam wall with a sloping beach beneath it.

Canis lupus pembrokensis, peeking over the dam wall to look at a fishing boat way out on the lake.

Canis lupus pembrokensis, on a gravel path onto which the bench I'm sitting on is casting a long afternoon shadow, looking over her shoulder at a farmhouse down a grassy slope opposite the lake.

It's shedding season and season season at the same time, and my poor puppy is exhausted. #dog #corgi

Canis lupus pembrokensis, lying flat on her couch, giving the camera a deep puppy stare. Her pink octopus toy is lying in front of her, and there is a *lot* of corgi glitter on the couch pillow between it and her.

Who cares about Harry and Meghan? Oscar and Abbie are the *real* royal hot couple here at doggy day care. #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi #corgwn

Canes lupi pembrokenses, from the left: Oscar, posing glamorously in an elegant sit for the camera, and Abbie, also sitting down almost leaning against a bigger dog, possibly a retriever, mostly out of frame, who may have just intruded on her personal space. Abbie's tongue is WAY out. Oscar looks very dashing.

The heatwaves continue, but we did have enough respite days to pop by doggy day care once or twice this week. #dog #corgi

She has just been briefed by a reliable source that she is the good girl. #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi

Canis lupus pembrokensis, sprawled out on her couch, dressed in her walkies harness. Her head is turned at a 45 degree angle away from the camera, because she obviously won't look into the camera for a good puppy shot, but her eyes have relented and turned back to look into the lens with a slight happy face because the ape behind the camera told her she was a good girl.

Hanging out with friends is the best part of doggy day care! #dog #DogsOfMastodon #corgi

Canis lupus pembrokensis, on the field with a retriever and a cocker spaniel. The retriever is doing a big mlem. They all look very happy.

Canis lupus pembrokensis, pulling a bit of a face, on the field with a white doodle and what might possibly be a Dachshund, but it's very hard to judge leg size from this angle. At the far left edge of the shot, a dark brown dog of indeterminate breed is doing a giant bork towards the group.

Canis lupus pembrokensis, at the back of the group for a change, with a golden retriever and a chestnut coated gun dog kind of breed in the foreground.

Canis lupus pembrokensis, doing a group canter along the edge of the field flanked by her friends Digby and Nelly. I can't guess either breed but Nelly looks a bit like a yellow lab but probably isn't, and Digby looks like a St Bernard if a St Bernard were a more normal sized dog.
