If you’re donating to a food bank, consider donating some respirators too! Food banks will be overwhelmed and crowded. Covid is still with us, still disabling and still killing. Many folks are losing food assistance & healthcare. A well fitted respirator can keep you healthy!

Reading The Future Is Disabled has made me realize that many people have never received genuine *care.* So giving (and receiving) is scary. You're a person. You have needs. That isn't some moral failing. If you are hungry, people WANT to feed you. If you have food, people WANT to eat it.

This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.
