Here’s our recent view of the Burgess Shale ACTUAL. Ca. 505MYA that’s HALF A BILLION YEARS AGO up on that mountainside. And you know there’s weird critters squished in there. This makes me so happy

This cranky old gal, known as Pissy Auntie to the other cats, and Tater for her isodiametric ambitions, wants no attention. Except when she does.
The white-whiskered visage of a mean old bitch kitty and her white face and green eyes and also the brown and black you would expect from a calico getting some scritches from old white man fingers like it or not. Hickory shirt strupes as background.

Now I am going to show you a poor view of some awesome rivers: confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse.
Pale fading cottonwoods in front of pale glacial sediment and pale glacial water. Dark conifers then a mostly cloudy sky behind.

Fantastic! In Willamette Valley restorations, I’ve considered whether this could be a factor based on lit from Britain/Europe. But most sites are full of exotic Bellardia, and native hemiparasites are sparse. Great work showing the effect in more pristine systems!

People like Natalie Harp are why the second Trump term has been a total and complete disaster. He's a senile midwit who has surrounded himself with lickspittle extremists because no one else can stand working for him. Talking about Natalie Harp gets that message started to the normies.

The Coast Guard just removed the Clearwater from the tall ship parade in NYC for having "Save the Clean Water Act" and "Indigenous Rights, Racial Justice, Climate Solutions” banners. They were escorted out by the Coast Guard, US Navy, and NYPD. www.instagram.com/p/DaYOP8OlIq...
It's a banner on one side of the Clearwater's main sail that reads "Save the Clean Water Act" and has a drawing of Pete Seeger's banjo on it.It's a banner on the other side that says "Indigenous Rights, Racial Justice, Climate Solutions”.

Two round brown loaves, scored in a cross with subscores (?) between each quarter cool on a black metal rack. The loaves have expanded so the original surface, lightly dusted with flour, is smaller than the rough surface of the rest. A red thermometer, red butter dish, steel lame, Canada wildlife plate, wrinkled muslin dishtowel like my Mom’s lie in the background. All are on the white enamel surface my true love rescued from the antique lady for cheap.

Cattleya attenboroughiana (Orchidaceae: Laeliinae): a new species from the Diamantina Plateau, Minas Gerais, Brazil - Kew Bulletin
A new species of Cattleya ser. Parviflorae (Orchidaceae) is here described from the campos rupestres of the Diamantina Plateau, part of the Espinhaço Range, Minas Gerais, SE Brazil. The new species is named Cattleya attenboroughiana and it is here compared to the most similar taxa and illustrated with photographs. The new species is likely a microendemic but the available data is insufficient for a precise conservation status assessment, so we consider it Data Deficient (DD), reinforcing the need for further exploration in the Diamantina Plateau.
