Today is Knight’s eleventh gotcha day, which makes him around 16 years old. He’s been an amazing blessing to our family. Yesterday on Day 98 I drew a Chamrosh bird, which is a dog/bird hybrid and I based it on my little guy who has his own impressive plumage. #the100dayproject

Days 94 and 95 were the Violet-backed Starlings and the Zebra-striped Hoopoe. Pretty sure that male starling is mansplaining something to his mate.

I got a text from one of my brothers with pictures of a bird he was watching. The Black Skimmer was unfamiliar to me, but I learned that it fishes by flying along the surface of the water with its mouth open, its large lower beak scooping up fish. #the100dayproject

On Day 82 I was watching Baltimore Orioles at my Dad’s bird feeder, on Day 83 I was back to the Goldfinches at mine.

Day 71 was the Palawan Peacock-pheasant, and Day 72 was the Philippine Eagle, and that finished my Philippine bird series. They have an amazing number of remarkable birds in those islands. Sadly, habitat destruction seems to be taking its toll on many of them. #the100dayproject
