I lead a book club on Meetup and I keep getting messages from authors asking about invitations they’ve gotten to speak to my book club. Of course, I didn’t send them. I’ve reported this to Google (these come from a Gmail address) but whenever I do, they start using a different address.

I lead a classic fiction book club and I can’t tell you how many people have written me asking about an email I purportedly sent Inviting them to speak about their decidedly non-classic fiction book. Most know it’s a scam and are checking with me to make sure. A few don’t; I hate disappointing them.

I don’t know that I agree with getting rid of counties but I will say that in Montgomery County, MD, we got 23% turnout for the primary. 23% in a county where if you win the primary, you win the general.
