saw the Joffrey Ballet's version of The Nutcracker (the Chicago-ified 1893 Columbian Exposition one) and I Cannot Believe that (1) their version of the Russian dancer was, in fact, Buffalo Bill cowboying it up on stage and doing lasso tricks as well as mad jumps (2) it WORKED. REALLY WELL.
