1/2 A big thank you to my readers who gave me advice on splitting Chapter 17. The split made Ch 17 a much kinder size (25k words). And it has allowed me to give more attention and breathing room to the denouement of the "Darkest Hour" of the story in Chapter 18, which I will finish this week.

Need some reader advice: Story structure-wise, I've been writing 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦'𝘴 "Darkest Hour". This day has already been split into two chapters, the first being all the build-up. That's 33K words. The 2nd chapter is already 33K and unfinished. Expecting 40-42K total. Do I need to split it again?

To other writers out there: don't you love when you are about to fall asleep and your muse kicked in with "OH! 𝘛𝘏𝘐𝘚 is how you write that scene!" And you have to get up and write it down or you're likely to lose it? It's not just my muse, right? (Happened to me last night with a Niffty scene!)

Today was a good day for writing. Managed to hammer out over 5.4K words. Chapter 17 of 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘦'𝘴 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘴: 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦 is well underway. It's going to be a monster of a chapter. In many more ways than one. I can't wait to share it with you!

I feel like i get more invested in a fanfic if the chapters are longer 🤔 its really hard to explain, like id rather read a 50k fic with 8 chapters than a 50k fic with 20 chapters, kwim? (And this isnt a critique just a personal preference)
