Once in a while, I’m like “I should post timelapses”. Then I find a timelapse and am like… mmmmaybe not. Anyway here’s a Procreate timelapse of a lalafell I drew forever ago.

Finally got some micro crochet earrings finished! Look at my local shop display, I think it is cute! I used some lovely hand-dyed threads from Paint-Box Threads for the smaller scaled ones. #crochet #microcrochet #handmade

More teeny tiny crochet! 30wt quilting thread on a 0.45mm hook. And yet I still feel like this isn't micro enough to be microcrochet even though it is literally the size of my thumbnail.

A picture of a crocheted pansy, ends still not woven in, held between thumb and forefinger. The pansy is approximately the same size as the thumbnail.

Today I am making very small things. Micro crochet yay! One of these is about 2cm across, the other 1.5cm. Both were on a 0.5mm hook, but one uses 40 wt cotton and the other uses 30 wt.

A hand holding two crocheted cherry blossoms, one slightly bigger than the other. The threads are loose and not woven in yet.

Blugh. Chest infection, both lungs. Antibiotics. Neck pain, lower back pain, sore throat, sore roof of mouth, all from the strain of my body apparently trying to forcibly eject my breathing apparatus. I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping… ;O;

Apparently I’m spending my sick day watching cartoons and doodling a sad duck man. …yes I’m late to the show, I’m not much of a watcher of things, but… two incredibly overpowered old men annoying the shit out of each other in song? Warrants a closer look. #hazbinhotel #lucifer #lucifermorningstar

The good: I’m off work for 7.4 tomorrow! The bad: I took a sick day. Due to being sick. We’ll see if I can get through the patch with my lungs intact because right now my breathing’s fucked and my cough is bone-shaking. Yay, winter.

When you don't want to watch a thing because you know its humour and insistence on being an... immature kind of mature? And then Youtube decides to dump a ship dynamic you love on you during your mindless shorts scroll. Not a canon one... I'm just weak to bickering enemies/rivals to lovers. Oop.

Is it just me, or is walking a rabbit on a harness something that should be kept to... well, NOT busy retail parks near popular dog walking spots? I felt sorry for it, not being able to run and hide when there's me with a confused and very interested labrador.

My entry to the FF14 housing contest. A non-winner, BUT… experience says it may very well end up in the game anyway, no credit or shiny new title for Kiwi. So we shall see. If they do it to me twice, I’m not sure how I’ll react! Probably with cackling laughter tbh. #ffxiv

Preparations for bicycle commutes in Autumn and Winter are underway!! Found this yarn in the attic. Pretty sure it's Opal but there was no label on it.

When you have taken up micro-crochet and are a bit clumsy... ...I may have stabbed myself right in the nipple with a 0.5mm hook. Do you need to know this? No. However, please share my pain. Thanks.

Today on "I can't find a pattern I like for what I want to make", I designed a tiny crochet daffodil motif! Not sure if it's worth writing up the pattern, but it will turn into yet more earrings. I have a collection.

I have a problem. No, not the number of colourful crochet motifs that are rapidly taking over my existence. Ends. None of these ends are woven in. None.

A collection of many small and colourful crochet motifs. Their ends are hanging out. There are many ends. So many. Too many.

I made glow in the dark earrings and I'm very pleased with them. I still have some non-skull motifs to block and make earrings out of, but sadly... further creativity is currently forbidden. The splint didn't stop me TRYING to crochet, but alas it is not happening. #handmade #crochet #earrings

Crocheted skull drop earrings, grouped in threes. The skulls are bordered with purple, green and black thread.

When you hyperfocus on crochet so hard you actually injure yourself... no crochet allowed now, my hand is buggered and made of pins and needles. Am I mad about it? Very. And hoping I don't have to go to the doctor. Anyway here's some earrings. Thinking £15-£18 would be a fair price... hm.

So um. My right hand has been kinda numb since about noon. Pins and needles and tingling. Fantastic when I'm in full craft mode... and probably repetitive strain. Anyway I have been trying to finish some crochet projects!

4 panel comic

P1: a right hand draws a wavy stroke on a sketchbook page. A caption box up top reads "draw"

P2: the word "CREATE" dominates a panel with a black background, forming in the negative space. Various small shapes surround it.

P3: a lone simplified humanoid figure is on the bottom right of a another panel with a black background. A thought bubble forms above their head, the words "if not for others, then at least for yourself" within.

P4: The Earth dominates the bottom of the panel, with a sliver of space above it. Clouds swirl and boil across the Earth, which is the only element on the entire page coloured a pink-red. A caption box above reads "now, more than ever"

Something something crochet newbie... I do tend to click with yarny things, so a project on a 2mm hook was only natural. Handmade earring! Now to try and make that earrings, plural.

Weight loss mission has commenced, for the following reasons: 1. I wish to return to pre-illness activity levels and get strength and stamina back. 2. To spite the consultant who tried to convince me I wasn’t ill in spite of camera evidence (that went missing) and fussed over my BMI.

Today, out of a desire to be a nerd, I used the kitchen colander to observe the movement of celestial bodies. This is the right way to see an eclipse, right? It was, indeed, kind of neat.

And now for the screentone commission chart! Fear the way in which reducing the resolution so much DESTROYED my careful monochrome shading!! But yes. I am taking character portrait commissions, with 6 slots open on Artistree! artistree.io/kiwiwibean

A commission sheet for character portrait commissions, featuring three options: shaded monochrome (£50), block colour (£50), and full colour (£80).

The notes state that I have range when it comes to style, that I’ll attempt almost any kind of character that’s SFW, and that pricing is based on the estimated time for a single character portrait.

Higher res version of the ‘block colour’ sample on the commission sheet.

I am sad because the FF14 patch refused to download for me. Will try tomorrow. I do, however, have WoL art!! This is my main lalafell, Kiwiwi Kiwi, who I rarely ever draw even though I think she’s a perfectly sensibly cute lala! Drawn in Procreate, as usual.

A waist up drawing of a FF14 lalafell character with reddish-brown hair, green eyes, and dressed in shades of brown and tan. She’s grimacing a little. The drawing has thick lines and has been coloured using screentones, with an aged paper texture.

I once saw someone saying they don’t understand why digital artists use screentones - it looks fake, they have better tools, etc etc. Turns out manually layering cymk layers is fun. I’m really wishing I finished this Tikal sketch I’m using to experiment on though.

A repurposed doodle of Tikal from Sonic the Hedgehog with a surprised look, a recolour of an older doodle that continues to not be finished. It has been coloured using screentones and has an aged paper texture overlay.

Knitting a cardigan!! Don’t you just love when you spend AGES closely examining where you think the mistake might be, trying to identify it so you can either correct or adapt to it, finally give up, and THEN find the mistake and it’s something tiny and dumb?

It occurs to me I haven’t posted art for a while. I’ve been a bit preoccupied with the whole surgery recovery dealio, but if you need a reminder that I’m a doodler…! I have a Tikal from Sonic the Hedgehog (using her STC version as ref), and Fizzy from My Little Pony!

A bust of Tikal from Sonic the Hedgehog, lines done in a rough digital brush. The expression is one of… dull surprise, I suppose!

A rather loose and rough drawing of Fizzy from My Little Pony, not even slightly on model and attempting to make the twinkle eyes just a bit stare-into-your-soul creepy.
