The thrift gods smiled upon me today. Scored a 14" Makita chop saw with a good abrasive blade for $40. It'll make some of my future planned art and fabrication work so much easier. I've been putting off buying the $180 one at Harbor Freight for what feels like forever. Glad I listened to myself.

Apparently it's a known phenomenon for Stellar's Jays to mimic Red Tail Hawk calls to scare others away from yard feeders. I had not heard of this before. I don't have a recording (yet), but there is a Jay who visits and mimics the call perfectly. Like, it sounds way up overhead and everything.
