Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Happy Thanksgiving, honey! What a beautiful and delicious spread. 210
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 04/10/2026You really are brave to go hiking in a forest so early in the morning. Beautiful images. 000
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I didn’t realise Debbie Allen had any recordings as a solo artist. These clips were both fun to watch and so indicative of the era. I especially loved Special Look - great, fun choreography, and you can tell they spent a good amount of money on it. 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 27/09/2026The lamb recipes alone are worth the purchase price, as far as I’m concerned. A rich book. 000
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 27/09/2026@phaidonpress.bsky.social publishes great cookbooks, including Salma Hage’s The Lebanese Cookbook. The recipe for chicken and pomegranate is a weeknight winner - warming spices in a tangy & mildly acidic sauce (I pre-salted the chicken as there is not a marinating step). Effortless and delicious. 271
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I’ve done that once and was dressed to appear in Court as defence counsel. Fortunately I keep alternatives/spares in my office! I agree it’s a cardinal sin. 🙊 000

Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Wow - looks beautiful and the ingredients sound delicious. I had prickly pear granita in Sicily many years ago and adored it. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I endorse that product 100%. I always have some around. 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 31/08/2026LOL. Sadly, didn’t last. But he was my last b/f. Took myself well away from the market and let myself go even more since then. Living only for my professional career and general life experiences now. 100
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 30/08/2026And can be hearty enough to set you up for the entire day. 100
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 30/08/2026A Venezuelan ex-boyfriend introduced me to the joys of arepas - both Venezuelan and Colombian styles. I still make them from time to time. 100
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 29/08/2026One of my fave tracks from this iconic masterpiece of an album. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Is that a candle scent called “rainshower”? Also I’ve had these same conflicting feelings before. 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 19/08/2026I love Su Li’s recipes (@nytimes.com Cooking) & her fab personality. Su Li’s lemony shrimp & bean stew is a breeze to make, comforting & savoury, which is what I need as I work late drafting an opinion. Highly recommend this recipe - it’s on the excellent NYT Cooking app & their YouTube channel. 🦐 040
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 18/08/2026I’ve had Navajo fry bread once in Arizona, and it was special for this NZer. I’ll never forget it. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 18/08/2026I bought several - one for me and the rest as gifts. I’m of a certain vintage that grew up with GM. 😎 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Golly gosh - that looks sensational. Love the accompanying cookies, too. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 07/08/2026Spero che questo libro venga pubblicato in inglese. 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I keep meaning to try this recipe. I often make Anna Del Conte’s chard with spicy tomato sauce and her gratin with the stalks, but I’ll definitely try this at the weekend, as it’s still deep, dark chard weather in NZ. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I always like to leave an edge of 3cm or so bare of any meringue to show off the curd. Like you, I don’t do mile-high meringue either (as fab as that looks!). 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 05/08/2026A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley. The epic scale of King Lear modernised and sets the family drama amongst the plains of Iowa. Caveat: There is a taboo subject and cancer, too; however, a mature person without major triggers will appreciate skill of setting place and pace, and the stark honesty. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 05/08/2026That meringue pie sounds exquisite, Nicola! Sensational idea. 100
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 04/08/2026For those interested…double-aloof (Capricorn sun, Aquarius rising, and born on the cusp of Capricorn and Aquarius) and a suitable colour palette. 020
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 27/07/2026They look sensational. I’ve always wanted to try the beef patties. Riaz Phillips has a saltfish version in his Jamaican cookbook, West Winds. It is a beautiful book - informative and warmly compiled, as is his Caribbean cookbook, East Winds. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 11/07/2026The turkey chilli in Josef Centeno & Betty Hallock’s #Amá is warming, flavourful & a breeze to make, even if you don’t have leftover roasted turkey meat (use a combo of minced turkey & beef). This cookbook is also the name of their Tex-Mex restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, which I 💖 & recommend. 0100
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 10/07/2026That looks sensational! Helen Goh is a great recipe developer. 010
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Mostly 2-note for me. There are some good tracks (Danceteria, Betrayal) but I don’t love any of them. I know it’d be amazing at a nightclub though. I’m just too old for that life now. 110
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 01/07/2026There have been many posts about @nigella.bsky.social’s chicken and orzo stew. In midwinter New Zealand I now attest to its warming and bolstering properties. It also freezes well. A great recipe. 150
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 28/06/2026To be honest, I avoid blue cocktails because it’s never ended well. LOL. However, as the blue is coming from spirulina, I might give this a shot when summer comes around in NZ (coconut is one of my favourite flavour profiles). 100
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 21/06/2026The ratios work splendidly in this recipe. My go-to for strawberry ice cream. 000
Shaun M @kitchenaglow.bsky.social · 20/06/2026Quince is my favourite fruit. Every autumn I either receive a windfall from friends or purchase them at a farmer’s market. Without fail, I make Maggie Beer’s pot-roasted quinces, which can be frozen with the syrup. An ambrosial fragrance wafts through the house during the low, slow cooking time. 140
