20 thousand years ago a man in a cave grabbed some fat and pigment and drew on a wall the things he saw daily. Animals, friends, pain and struggle - life. The drive to create is human and shared in all, by all. To refuse that, to abandon that, is to jettison the parts of us that makes us human.

Not a suggestion but I get it - art school was one of the most fun, fulfilling times of my life because of that exact energy. To be surrounded by other artists in various stages of learning and experimentation, bouncing ideas back and forth. I find creative discords a decent substitute, fwiw.

Using twitter is shitty yeah but god dammit man I wish all the cool artists that use it partially or exclusively would just make the jump already. The history, repertoire and connections they've made just don't translate, and it impacts their bottom line severely. There's no critical mass.

It's the same stunted understanding of visual art - the process is irrelevant and only the product matters. Someone whose never touched a paintbrush can't fundamentally comprehend the requirements to skillfully use it, nevermind the creative impetus, emotions and drive underlying the desire to make.

Overdraft fees should be straight illegal. I recall there being legislation once that would end it but I think it was handwaved away because you can technically opt out. Pasta, by hand, has been a big staple for me. A 5lb bag of 00 flour and a carton of eggs will go far. The only issue being time!

It's a forest for the trees thing. The EU does have generally more strict food regulations and the current administration isn't doing food quality any favors but higher quality food will always exist. As stated you just gotta go to it - any reduction to commonality will yield inferior products.

Looked it up, movie is called "Who the $&% Is Jackson Pollock?!" They touched on Pollocks fuckery but ultimately focused on the painting. It got an offer for 9 mil but the owner died holding out for 50 mil. Womp womp. A fitting end, considering she bought it for $5 at a flea market. Stupid.

I was thinking about this today on the plane - getting older in the fandom and becoming afraid to be expressive or even really just present because I've become "the creepy old man." I fear that my ability to truly be myself will galvanize to a close social circle which'll grow smaller in time.
