I don't see the point of these distros using staggered releases. every big upgrade is a downright pain. all the issues happen at once instead of one at a time. it's more maintenance work because you have to provide updates for old packages too.

they put an "uninstall password" system in the prerm package step lmao it asks for a password and compares it with a hashed one but you can just delete the password file or edit that package step and it bypasses it but if you don't it makes your upgrades from 24.04 to 26.04 fail!

this type of coarse gray salt is also 4-6 times as expensive as regular, coarse purified salt, but also pickling doesn't use that much and that's what I had on hand. it is also not iodine-fortified which may or may not matter for pickling? all the sources were very ambivalent on this lol

the vegetables are making lots of bubbles and I'm pretty sure that's a good thing. I used gray coarse salt which is rich in minerals and stuff and I'm not entirely sure that's a great idea? it's very close to just. evaporated sea water (that's kind of what it is)
