I’m sad that the Powers that Be are retiring Skype. It’s been my lifeline & connection to my overseas partner for over 8 years now. #skype

Last night, my elderly iPhone upgraded to 18.3.1. It has some annoying new features like attempting to sort my mail into arbitrary boxes of its own invention. I’ve also noticed my email count going down all day. Is this a glitch or is it unilaterally deciding what to delete too?!

Got back from a three hour shift at work so tired I had to take a two hour nap. Woke up. Ate half a bag of popcorn & a plate of yesterday’s curry & rice. And two vegan white chocolate pots… those were indecently good. Drank a couple of glasses of wine. Took a bath. Regret the glasses of wine…

Sorry to vent. I’m just so tired. Universal Credit are demanding I meet them to justify the fact I’m not quitting self employment (yet). Even though I have had to take multiple jobs to support myself. Zero hour is brutal but it’s work. The benefits system is hell for the creative industries.

The world would be easier if music was a paid job. I’ve worked 20+ years & released/financed 8+ albums. This month I earned £0.00 from music.(What did Spotify earn?) Universal Credit assumes I earn £1,550 & pays me £52 monthly. I have 3 zero hour jobs & work split shifts. Today I’m exhausted.

Sometimes you just have to walk a few steps in a cold place to realise you were sitting in a warm room.

Today, I can get behind. I overslept because my alarm didn’t go off & got 10 hours of sleep. Nothing in the diary. Figure I’ll go for a swim. Maybe a walk too. Should probably clean…Friends coming for dinner this evening. I think I need to take a de-stress day.

Two wrongs don’t make a right, folks…ok so these animals were illegally released but why for god’s sake cull them instead of finding them a safe place to be? It just shows how cruel we’ve become… www.bbc.com/news/article...

Feral pigs spotted roaming Cairngorms National Park caught and culled - BBC News

Forestry and Land Scotland said the group of eight animals were humanely culled.

mixmag.net/read/spotify... Not impressed with this, or the pre-inauguration brunch for political pundits that Spotify funded when it can’t afford to pay its artists enough to support their families…

mixmag.net

Spotify reportedly donated $150,000 to US President Donald Trump's Inauguration

Alongside the contribution, the streaming platform also held a brunch on the eve of the ceremony for political pundits such as Ben Shapiro and Tim Pool

Does anyone else have the dream where you’re meant to be at a class but have lost your timetable & have no idea which class you should be at or where to go?

My Danish trip just got extended due to spending a week in bed with a nasty cough: what is this evil, shape shifter of a virus that racks me with coughing & turns my partner into a shivering mass of fever every night?! Anyone else playing host to every bug out there of late?! 😆

Has anyone ever had ‘figs in caramel’ ? What do you do with them?? On porridge? They’re crazy sweet!

I was just settling down to a nice cup of kukicha tea when Tor came in & put on a Danish heavy metal track. Who knew a band called King Diamond made a horror concept album about tea? Oh I felt so heavenly Ooh it is time for tea, ooh it is time again Still not convinced by heavy metal.

My mind has taken to reliving (& reimagining) past breakups whilst I sleep. Why is my brain trying to make me sad? It’s like re watching a series you didn’t enjoy the first time around.

Yippee! Finally crunched my numbers for 2023-24 & submitted them to the accountant. I can’t really afford him but I really like having someone in my corner who isn’t number phobic!

Fed up. Either my computer is just trying to jeopardise my career or my entire household is possessed by demons. Tried to send a file to someone. That could earn me some money. But oh no…my mouse isn’t recognised, computer keyboard won’t type & just now my phone started typing backwards. Soddit.

Lazy day. Snow was my excuse. Made a fire. And soup. And cinnamon, cardamom buns. Played guitar. Working on forgiving myself for not getting enough done.

Beautiful golden orange soup in a plain grey stoneware bowl. Topped with an emerald scattering of fresh parsley & and ruby swirl of schiracha hot sauce.

A roaring fire. A broken brick hearth. A blue plate with white dots and a homemade cinnamon & cardamom bun flecked with almonds.

A snowy garden. A garden chair & table covered in snow, snowy branches & an archway.
