Anyway, these sum up my journaling experience quite nicely:
An image of Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls lying flat on the floor, exhausted, with her head resting on one arm as she writes in an open journal with a large pen.

The caption above reads: “Dear diary, today I was angry because I woke up early and I was still sleepy.”An edited Little Miss character from the classic children’s book series.

The character has yellow pigtails with red bows and is holding a stack of journals.

The text above reads: “LITTLE MISS JOURNAL GORL.” A simple black-and-white stick figure drawing of a party scene. One figure, wearing a party hat, stands alone on the left, holding a drink and looking at a group of people dancing and chatting.

Above the lone figure, text reads: “they don’t know I’m gonna write about this in my journal.” A tweet from user @blanketgoblin reads: “I just found my old diary from when I was 9 and by god I was an idiot.”

Below the tweet is an image of a diary entry written by a child, timestamped “12:00 PM” on July 4th, 2007.

The entry begins with “Dear Dire gess what!” followed by chaotic handwriting saying “what” again in quotation marks. The child signs off with “good ,by 2007 hello 2008!”

The diary entry is full of misspellings and randomly placed words, making it humorously nonsensical.

FWIW, the package is books, so at this point I’m starting to think the courier is reading them before they deliver them.

Happy ‘take your very dead Christmas tree for a walk to the local rescue farm so the goats and other animals (who are hiding inside because it’s too cold) can eat it, covering your house in pine needles in the process’ day to all who celebrate.
A person dragging a dried-out Christmas tree through the snow. The view is from above, showing their hand holding the top of the tree, with snowy wellies visible against the white ground. The tree’s sparse, brown branches highlight its post-Christmas state.A snowy rescue farm with a wooden goat shelter and small enclosures. A goat is peeking out from one of the shelters, a pig is eating at the back next to two ducks, while the surrounding area is covered in snow. There are scattered items like tires and wooden structures for the animals. The scene looks peaceful and wintry.

Santa Paws has officially clocked (conked) out. Not even a hot cup of ‘pawfee’ can keep her awake after a two days of back-to-back festivities. 🎄🐶 #dogsofbsky #skydogs

Happy Christmas Eve Eve! I’ve not felt Christmassy at all this year. Buuuut I finally picked and decorated my tree yesterday, and today I’m wrapping presents (if my dogs let me) with silly old Christmas specials on in the background. So I’m starting to feel a tiny bit festive, just in time. 🎄
A scene from the TV show Friends featuring Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Ross ans Chandler in Central Perk, decorated with festive Christmas decorations like tinsel. The caption on the screen reads “Happy Christmas Eve Eve!” in white writing, referring to Phoebe’s iconic holiday phrase. Other characters are visible in the background, adding to the cozy holiday atmosphere.

Tip: Always take your Kindle everywhere you go, including fight night, just in case you end up waiting in A&E after your partner breaks his hand on the first punch. (He still fought for 15 mins and won though, and I got to carry on reading Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Win win.)

I finished Philippa Gregory’s ‘Normal Women: Nine Hundred Years of Making History’ today after chipping away at it all year. What a phenomenal book. Women are fucking incredible. Highly recommend.

It features a pixelated portrait of a historical woman dressed in red and white, set against a dark background. The author’s name is displayed prominently at the top in gold text, with the title and subtitle below in white text.

Today’s autumn walk (ft. crunchy leaves and crazy dachshunds). 🍂🐾 #dogsofbsky #skydogs
A boar coat wire haired dachshund running up a hill covered in fallen autumn leaves in a wooded area. Its tongue is out, and it looks lively as it runs towards the camera. In the background, on the right, there are some tree trunks with the bum of a Black and Tan smooth haired dachshund poking out. Two dachshunds (a boar coat wire haired dachshund on the left, a Black and Tan smooth coat dachshund on the right) standing facing each other on a mossy hill covered in fallen leaves. The background shows tall, bare trees against an overcast sky, capturing a peaceful woodland scene. The photo is taken from a lower level.

As in these? Nah you’re being lied to surely. Though they are a very country-specific tradition.

There’s not much my Doberman loves more than inhaling a paper cup full of cream on a Sunday (and getting it all over her chin in the process). To whoever invented pup cups: My dogs think you’re the best.

A rainy day, a good book, and two clingy dachshunds making it impossible to focus. 📚🐶 #booksky #skydogs

Right, I’m hoping lots more digital PR people make their way over here. To make it as easy as possible, here’s a growing thread of all the digital PR starter packs, lists and feeds. If you make one, or spot that one is missing, let me know and I’ll add it!

Did you know lots of news outlets have Reddit accounts? Some, like WaPo and NatGeo, have been on there for years, but many joined recently. Reddit’s seen a big boost in traffic this year thanks to Google, so it makes sense for news outlets to follow. Plus they get to engage with active subreddits.

Two snowy dog walks this morning. One dachshund had the time of his life with lots of zoomies… The other turned into a snowman. ⛄️ #dogsofbsky

It’s a great day for me and my fellow ‘winter over summer’ people today. Snowy skies and frosted hills out of the bedroom window this morning. Can’t think of a better way to start the day. ⛄️ #uksnow

It’s my first born child*, Franklin’s, 6th birthday today and I love him more than life despite the fact that he drives me crazy and has been a grumpy old man his whole life. Here’s to six more years of being weird and unsociable, buddy. *yes he is a dog and yes he is my child #dogsofbsky

Today marks three weeks since someone crashed a stolen car near my house wiping out the internet for the whole village… Which STILL hasn’t been fixed. All fun and games until you realise you’re self employed, work from home and your whole entire job is ✨ the internet ✨
