I saved a really old amplifier this way, really works miracles. You might have to open the enclosure to reach the potentiometers properly

Its probably just some dirt on the potentiometer! You can get an electronic cleaner spray and see if it revives!

Also, it's intuitive if you read notation because it's written with a C-bias as well. Also i guess it's a nice way to have a lot of notes in a horizontal line and does not take up a whole lot of space.

Yeah, non-uniform chords are too bad. However, piano is so nice because its become a standard and you can play so many actual acoustic instruments and synthesizers. To me that's worth the extra effort (isomorphic keyboards are not that much easier anyways...)
