In CT you cannot purchase a pre-buy after Oct 31 so I have a couple of weeks to ponder and see which way the price goes. If I lock in at $4.9999/gal I’m committed to $3k of oil (paid for up front of course 🤣) and then the price could go down. Currently hoping it’s a mild winter.

Could just go on “day of” pricing hoping that things in Iran resolve/pause+oil prices come down. There’s a Ceiling Price plan where u pay up to but not over $5.1999/gal but because we “only” use 600 gals, we need to pay a $199 fee-calculated in w/the ceiling price = 50c/gal higher than the pre-buy!

Did something bite him/her? Looks like little puncture wounds (maybe from a cat?)

I got a pre-buy quote for the 600 gals of oil we use each winter. Last years price in Sept $3.1999, this Sept it’s currently $4.9999/gal - a 56% increase. In 2024 weeks paid $2 something a gal. This in CT.

And as you’ve done, document the scene, your injuries, get the neighbor who came out’s name and phone number (as they area witness) and keep all your receipts. Bills add up.

Even if you think right now that you’ll have no claim, send the letter anyway as after 90 days it’s too late. After a while you’ll be contacted by the city’s loss adjuster who will try to settle for a paltry sum. Then you can decide your options. Injury lawyers fee is a cut of the claim.

Write a letter to the city within 90 days of the incident informing them that u were injured by poorly maintained/signed roadway/bike lane. No legal claim after 90+ days. U may need to make a claim later for injuries/damage to yr bIcycle. All cities have loss adjuster/funds for this exact occurrence

Is it nylon or metal zipper? Most nylon zippers are self healing, I.e. pull the zipper back the other way and start over. metalzippers do not self healing.

“Ah we have to do the drain work first before resurfacing“ this was the excuse for 15 years in my neighborhood meanwhile people injured themselves walking the potholes were so bad. New mayor increased the roads budget And the drains and the resurfacing got done.
