In the Children's Care sector, private providers charge the state an average of £384,020 per child / year. It's an absolute goldmine for unscrupulous investors to profit from housing vulnerable children. We want England to follow the example set by Wales, & remove profit from children's services.
Composite infographic shows a quote from George Monbiot in The Guardian: "Horrific, unregulated and very profitable. The companies making cash from England's children in care." Below this, a photo of We Own it campaign Jason Hussein alongside his quote: "You can put children first or you can put profit first. The current system allows private equity firms to pretend you can do both. Wales has passed a law to end profit in children's care. It is time for England to also end profit-making in children's social care."
