I wanted to try making another leather cut out design like the Godzilla zipper pouch I made for my husband. This was one idea I had and drew up in Procreate last night. But I dunno. Colors aren’t finalized.

New process I’m trying out. Everything is drawn & organized in Procreate then vectorized in Illustrator so it can be cut from white mixed media paper. Layers are individually painted w/ watercolors & glued together then Posca markers add the finishes. #papercut #watercolor #posca #paperart #dog

Top left: Porcreate screen showing each layer in a different color.

Top right: Illustrator showing the layers stack with a black stroke.

Bottom left: Layers cut from
Paper, painted in watercolor, and glued together.

Bottom right: Posca markers added for finer details.

Layers painted with watercolor markers and glued with a close up.

Final portrait with Posca markers added details for highlights and a close up.

Holding the final portrait up at an angle so the layers of paper can be seen.

I may not always be successful at doing adulting tasks, but I’m pretty good at doing stupid tasks. Leather Godzilla pouch made for @jaredsilvia.bsky.social.

Laser is currently down but I pride myself on my adaptability and problem solving skills. So I dusted out my ancient Cameo Silhouette.

Process for a portrait of my collie, Freyja. The colors seen here are mostly to distinguish each layer. The #procreate phase completed the next step is to convert the layers to something the laser cutter can read and cut them out of paper. But that’ll be a while bc my laser just crapped out.

Poster completed for tomorrow’s No Kings protest. I found the slogan on Pinterest & then Photoshopped a painting of Napoleon after his defeat at Waterloo eating a Big Mac atop a golden shitter. Done with Posca, Ironlak, and Prismacolor markers. #nokings #protestposter #posca #prismacolor #ironlak

Went on a little nature hike with my friend, Kate today. We saw gators, birds, spiders, mushrooms, butterflies, and this little grumpy gopher tortoise.

Portrait of Sencha, my #siamese. Drawn in #procreate, the different colors indicate the different layers that will be cut from paper using my laser cutter. I’m finding working foreground back is the easiest process. When I showed Jared my progress, he joked, “Sencha’s desk mask” 😝.

Finally had some bandwidth to make more tropical sauerkraut. I learned how to make this in Costa Rica and it’s still my fave! It’s a lacto-fermentation of green papaya, carrots, and garlic. It’ll be ready in about 2 weeks.
