The Breadwinner is wonderful. I hope it arrives soon.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

OMG! I had that issue when I was a kid. I wonder what happened to my copy of it... ?

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

An issue that Liefeld drew? No, thank you. May I have some more Paul Smith X-Men or Dave Cockrum Nightcrawler stories instead?

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

I never understood why Rachel disappeared from the X-books. I think Claremont was the only one who knew what to do with her. Given that she's a key character in the monumental Days of Future Past story AND she's the daughter of Scott and Jean, I don't see how she got swept under the rug.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

I'm glad that the trope of groups calling themselves Evil isn't a thing anymore. I know this group might not be as principled as Magneto, but no one calls themselves evil unless they're totally unhinged.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 15/05/2026

Claremont definitely started letting plot threads hang for too long. Some threads, like Nightcrawler's true parentage, he left hanging so long that he didn't even get to write it.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 15/05/2026

100% agree! One thing I loved about Rowell's run is how hard she worked to respect and address the existing continuity. It's a shame to see other creators not giving her work the respect she's given to everyone else's.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 18/03/2026

Yeah, in every book other than Thor, that was a huge problem. It threatened lives and destroyed any evidence or personal items that may have been meaningful to the X-Men and other survivors. Heaven forbid there were any wounded survivors just regaining consciousness when he cut loose.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

That stretch of the series is GREAT! The storytelling is deep but seems effortless.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 08/02/2026

What a deceptively, even macabrely, misleading guide. They make it look like it's going to be all fun and surprises and not death and tragedy.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 21/01/2026

Maybe Sabra was with Sunfire, Collective Man, and Black Panther charging in JUST out of frame.

Someone else likely already chimed in, but it appears that the transformation happened after she got on the boat (yes, she was taking a boat and not a plane) but before it left port. Her trip continues after this storyline.

Finished my 2nd time playing Dispatch. Great game! It's a narrative game where your choices influence the relationships and outcome of the game with some more conventional gameplay sections. Part workplace sitcom, part video game, with plenty of super hero action, I loved it. #Dispatch

Finished watching #BigBoys, a show about a group of college students in the 2010s. It could have been light fun but proved itself to be emotionally rich, a deep tale about grief, self-discovery, love, depression, & the possibility that sometimes loving your friends isn't enough to save them.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 09/09/2025

Got my copy. Read it! Loved it! Time to reread the book, rewatch the series, and then reread the graphic novel.

Kip Lewis @kiplewis.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Just finished Murderbot. The story of a robot with no safety protocols who is stuck protecting a group of hippie scientists on an unexplored world. They did a great job of making it dark but not grim and heartfelt without being too sentimental. 100% worth the watch. #murderbot

Lawful Good. Based on what I've seen of you, you have a clear sense of right and wrong, care deeply about the greater good, and you aren't interested in solutions that are built on the suffering of the few.

Just rewatched The Way, Way Back and was reminded of how great a movie it is. Among the Awkward-Teen-Finding-Themself genre, this is hands down one of my favorites. It manages to be sad, grounded, and funny, without taking itself too seriously or too lightly. #waywayback #movienight #greatmovie

Reading Careless People, written by a former Facebook employee, it's about her experiences working with the company's leadership. Facebook seems to be run by people who don't understand the world and don't much care about other people. #carelesspeople #facebook #socialmedia

Had a great time playing Horrified: American Monsters. Unfortunately, the innocent bystander Jimmy happened to leave City Hall just as the Mothman and the Ozark Howler closed in. But we triumphed despite that tragic loss. #horrifiedamericanmonsters #horrified #boardgames #boardgames #ravensburger

I've really enjoyed the Avatar graphic novels that Dark Horse puts out but I feel like they've really hit their stride recently with these smaller, more focused stories. It's allowed them to tell great stories about beloved supporting characters. #darkhorsecomics #legendofkorra #lastairbender

Recently started reading some of Ed Brubaker's non-super hero work. I've been enjoying the Reckless series. The art and writing work together wonderfully to capture this crime noir world of LA in the 70s and 80s. #reckless #graphicnovels #imagecomics #destroyallmonsters #edbrubaker

Decided to revisit the Eternals. They're an interesting concept that has never felt quite at home in the Marvel Universe to me - like they need a universe of their own to be fully what they could be. But these stories show the greatness of the idea. #eternals #marvel #jackkirby #marvelseternals

I watched the final episode of Critical Role s3. It was a big, epic, and emotional ending for Bells Hells as well as Vox Machina and the Might Nein. Though I'm sure we'll see the characters again it felt like the last big story for all these characters. #criticalrole #bellshells #d&d

I finished reading Tom King's Human Target. As a longtime fan of the JLI, I enjoyed seeing these characters in a serious, hard boiled story. King really captured the history and tone of the characters while giving them complexity, depth, and humanity. #JLI #humantarget #dccomics #tomking

Listened to the finale of NADDPOD c3. So much fun! So satisfying! It was the 1st of their campaigns I listened to so now I'm faced with the question: Do I go back and listen to the earlier campaigns or shift another actual play in my rotation? #naddpod #bahumia #twocrew #actualplay #d&d #dandd

I didn't read his run by one of my friends loved it when it came out. Years later, when I decided I wanted to check it out I was disappointed to discover it hadn't been collected. Time to start searching the loose comic boxes...

I flashbacked to my childhood by revisiting Marvel's ROM. A fun, toy-based sci-fi adventure on the fringes of the Marvel Universe. My brother had been the real fan when we were kids so I hadn't remembered that much about it but I enjoyed rediscovering it. #Rom #Marvel #billmantlo #spaceknights

I read an old 1970s era printing of the book when I was high school and it captured my imagination completely. I lost track of the series somewhere after Queen of the Damned but it'll always hold a special place in an angsty teenage corner of my heart.
