Article text: Most people would kill for a work-from-home job, but it turns out it can have some grim effects on your mental health.

A new study published in the journal Science found that remote workers were more likely to report feeling anxious, depressed, and being socially isolated compared to people who worked in-office. No commute and having the comforts of home is undoubtedly an upside, but it seems there’s no substitute for genuine social connections.

I wish we could have a more sensible discussion about what "ownership" means in media, because there's so much misconception. First of all, games (for example, but this applies to any media) have always been sold via license. This isn't a new thing to digital media.

I miss the time in my life when I was more involved with the London improv scene. It was hugely helpful to me in a lot of different ways. I haven't been involved in years and it's all changed so I don't feel like I have an obvious 'in' anymore

Not gonna lie I've just had a WEIRD couple of weeks. But now, ConFuzzled. I'm really proud of what we did this year and it's really only in the last month I felt pretty confident it would all come together as well as I hoped. I can't wait to share everything we got planned ❤️

"involved with" in this case means directing, co-writing the plot with me, writing like half of the script with me, planning filming order and shots (always time consuming but twice as hard in a musical), rehearsing and going over the edits over and over these last weeks to get it ready

At this point one of the main arguments against Windows for me is that it's rather expensive. £100-200 depending on what version you get which is the sort of price I'd expect to pay for professional music software, which I would then expect to function to my liking to justify that cost.

Why do I still look at LinkedIn sometimes? Well, it's the only place online that you get to enjoy this kind of absolute cockery all the time without it also being laced with racial slurs.

“Prompt Engineer” used to be a term people laughed at.

Now it’s a proper skill.

Prompting isn’t chatting with AI —
It’s meta-thinking.

It’s coding your knowledge into a signal that pulls what you need from the world’s collective intelligence.

I like to visualise a word cloud of everything ever known.

How you write a prompt determines which branch of knowledge the AI searches.

Poor prompt = poor direct = poor results.

It’s not AI’s fault. It’s yours.

The clearer you think, the better you prompt.

There's a subtle linguistic difference between 'useful' and 'can be used for some things' isn't there? For example, the COVID pandemic can be used to prove the viability of working from home, but on the whole I didn't think it was particularly useful eh?

Whenever I see an image like this I always do the magic eye thing, as I find those very easy to do and it works on any repeating pattern. A phenomenon I don't understand is that when you magic eye a repeating pattern like this it becomes much easier to see all the details.

I guess I don't really get the post con depression. There's some sadness but mostly I feel excited about next time, glad to rest for a bit and a very warm feeling about what a great thing we have going on and the people involved with it. I'm the good sort of tired.

This has been my most enjoyable CFz for many years. I love doing all the metagame stuff but it's been so busy most years that there's been less time to enjoy other things, but with a little extra help this time I actually got a very nice balance and got to do all the things I wanted pretty much <3

I'll be there in a few hours. One of my favourite parts is arriving, usually in a bit of a mood because of all the travelling but then feeling that dissipate on the walk from the train station to the hotel lobby.
