Rarely watch a movie these days that I find worthy of talking about. Support the Girls is one of them. Left me with more kindness and empathy towards the end of it and it's blessed with flawless performances and great writing. Grab a big ass beer and enjoy.

What’s a movie you think nobody but you and a handful of people have heard of, that you think is a fantastic film?

Dark, twisted mind fuck. Thoroughly enjoyed the dystopian and the Children of Men rehash in the undertones. Highly recommend.

At 94, Clint Eastwood has still got it. If I have 0,001% of what he has at 60, I've made it in life.

Second movie I watched in the past half year about Jewish Americans going back to Poland to visit their ancestral past. Ignoring Lena Dunham's clunker, Jesse Eisenberg's A Real Pain delivers only because of Kieran Culkin's stab in your heart performance.

First time watching this movie. the emotional scenes worked well but the ones with Kevin booby trapping his home seemed not grounded in reality. Should've left them out of the movie. Otherwise the story of a boy discovering loneliness and the importance of family.

Some gems in the report from the Rechnungshof about the state of Berlin's finances. Yes, go ahead and slash culture budgets, cycling lanes and public transport extension to cover your own inability to collect three digit million taxes because of red tape and data management.

Fished this from the mental to-watch list and discovered the prolific American director Richard Fleischer and his absolute mastery over creating a chilling psycho killer drama. Aided by searing performances by Richard Attenborough and John Hurt.

Watched All We Imagine As Light with proper aspect ratio last night. A movie about love, heartbreak and finding a home in Mumbai, a city that doubles as one of the main leads of the story. AWIAL is a complex (yet accessible) movie and Payal Kapadia is in top form.

There's not as much discourse about this film as it deserves. Goes deep into (old) male white rage that's the political reality of America today back in 1996. A movie way ahead of its times and ever more relevant. If had to pick my Top 10 90s movies, Falling Down will be in the list.

Watching RGV's Rangeela for the first time and 50 minutes, there four song and dance sequences and no real story yet. Wait, Jackie Shroff just discovered Ursula, maybe it's a promise.

Did a S. Shankar double billing with Aparichitudu and Oke Okkadu. Politics of both the movies are softcore Sanghi-pilled but with action and song sequence that hold their weight.

Been doing a long movie marathon and not discussing the movies after a watch is quite liberating. Best find so far? The Confession Costa Gavras, both a reminder of the past and probably of times to come.

Interesting answer to why so many films from the 1970s appear to look very "soft", as if someone put white gauze over the lens. Being a huge admirer of this aesthetic I think I should devote time to understand film stock and preservation.
