He'd for real be out there just slurping them down

I like to think that he has like 10 of them in there even though it's a relatively small room and he keeps the litter box and everything pristine (so obviously it's not like a hoarding situation because he can care for all the animals) but like he needs his babies

Killer has a cat tower in his room and the kitties snuggle with him when his soul is unstable. 😺

I want to apologize to anyone I may have hurt during the drama surrounding necropathy and their usage of AI in their art. I had personally interacted with and looked up to them and chose not to examine the warnings I had, while that doesn't excuse any damage I have caused, I hope it helps explain.

Also I'm not sure where you got that Necro studies a bunch, they're a relatively new artist, they've really only been making art for like 2, almost 3 years.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Why is he so invested in this anyway? Did Necro tick him off or something?

Either way you guys have my full support, artists turning against each other is the last thing we need during the dawn of AI. This really seems like a smear campaign / witch hunt. I've been reporting pen for targeted harassment since it's clear the account was made for this purpose only.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I don't think the pen person is Nat, whoever they are, Nat uses she/her pronouns, wouldntmind19 is calling this pen person he/him. They are definitely still a part of the same circle, as wouldntmind19 is directly contributing information to pen's "document".

It's not pretty but it's the truth, they're already facing horrible harassment because whoever your buddy is decided to start this without conclusive proof. It would be so much easier if it could be confirmed that it had an ai watermark or something similar but it doesn't.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
As long as he knows that the subsequent bullying and harassment is his direct fault then. No matter how many disclaimers you put on something, it doesn't counteract your actions from having been the catalyst.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I just really don't think it's appropriate to post these things, it does -intentionally or not- produce harassment. That said, I'm very curious to see what they think.

It also has a built-in playback speed function so you can slow it down for further analysis.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Their first artwork posted on Twitter was posted February 2023 so it's been closer to 3. If you look at necropathy's Tumblr, they have a slower version of the speedpaint available which might be easier to view.

If it comes out that *some* of their art is run through AI to finish it *but not all*, I think that anything that used AI should be removed from their profile, any commissions using AI should be refunded if possible, and they have to label anything to use(d) AI on, for or with.
100
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I'd also say if you look at some of their other artwork, there are consistencies that wouldn't make sense for AI. In this piece, all of the stars lined up on the center shirt not only fold with the shirt, but there is also a corresponding buttonhole on the other side of the jacket.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Because of my belief on harassment, I think that the pen account should not be doing what they're doing until they have the solid evidence, because unless they have proof, this is just going to be used to harass Necro, no matter what disclaimers they put on their posts.
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I really don't think anybody should be harassed over this crap. Not you. Not Necro. Nobody. I will say I don't want this pen guy poking around unless they can provide 100% concrete evidence that isn't "this looks funny." I'm tired of losing artists.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
If they're going to do that, why not fix any issues that are glaringly obvious anyway, especially if they want to get away with it?
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I just think it's arguable. I want solid evidence. I've seen far too many creators bullied off of platforms for me to trust anything less than complete proof.

I'll be honest, I saw a million of these things back when I was starting out drawing for anime character bases. They're bald so you can give them the right hair for their character, and AI won't generate naked characters, even for references.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Which is pretty much the same exact thing that happened to traditional animation when computer animation was popularized. The traditional animators were unionized and it was cheaper to underpay the computer animators so they iced out the entire profession. It's disgusting, but it's what they want.

I could see the logic (though not agree) that using AI to make references to trace instead of tracing other artists work would be less harmful to other artists, however, I personally believe that AI usage is killing all artists as a profession by providing a cheap alternative. (3)

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
If Necro is tracing off their references, they wouldn't be able to use the window function, it would have to be in the layers. And yet again, they would not want to reveal this to the public as it would be a source of major backlash. I could see the logic (though not agree with it) that using (2)

I think it's suspicious and concerning. Potentially from bad references, even AI references, but I don't think the artwork itself is AI generated. I don't think AI is capable of making anything half decent, let alone anything fandom specific. Procreate has a built-in reference window, but if 1)

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I really genuinely think that necro has accidentally used AI references, but not more than that. No artist making money from their art would intentionally use the hack that is driving them out of their craft.
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Which honestly good for Google (words I thought I'd never say) they should not have any AI unlabeled.
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I mean if necro was an ai mastermind, don't you think they wouldn't have put the reference in their speed paint? Also that says it replaces the synth ID with a new one.

I should probably take this back since it seems I was misinformed.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
We could always try going through each AI and asking them lol though I think that's a little ridiculous

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
It did not detect a watermark. This would work for nanobanana, gemini, chatgpt, Claude, DALL-E and midJourney at least.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I could only check the one directly and you're welcome to do it yourself as well:

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
If you're interested, keep in mind that the watermark is invisible, written into the code so you'd need to use AI to get the answer, I personally recommend Gemini if you're going to try it. They're the ones who developed the technology as far as I'm aware.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Besides, if you're really concerned, generative AI leaves a digital watermark on the things that it generates. Why not search directly for that?

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Also, for the left one, it's not entirely implausible that given the style of clothing, Nightmare would be wearing gloves, with the casino setting.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
For commission, I probably personally would have added more color, that's me tho. There's a solid chance they drew a tree and then used that as a stamp multiple times (that's what I do when I'm trying to make a background) because it looks like the same tree shows up 3 times, once mirrored.
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I'm not sure what backwards foot means in the context of the art, the foot looks completely fine to me, which means it's absolutely plausible that it got overlooked if there is something wrong with it. On the same note, I don't see anything standing out about the background honestly. 2)
100
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I think that the photo on the right should either have been a very cheap commission or not a paid commission, unless it was very early in their career. The arm is easily enough explained if they made the hidden arm too long. The hand on the other arm looks weird, particularly with the hole. 1)

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
The entire left photo is done in the same art style which is done to look blurry. The people in the background, the chandelier, the hands, the faces, the outfits, the smoke, every part of that looks blurry and undefined. It was more than likely done with a watercolor brush or something similar.
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I'll address the pictures one at a time, but keep in mind I think that if they are using AI they should not be allowed to profit and should have it on their profile so that everyone knows.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around buddy.
020
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
That said a good way of avoiding issues like this in the future would probably be to cite or show any references used, but that's not a good solution for artists in the modern day because everyone will call them cheaters or tracers, because ultimately people don't understand that tracing is learning
000
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
It's still bad but less harmful because they had no hand in the creation or reproduction of the AI reference, and they're just using a reference from online somewhere. The reason AI references right now are so nasty is because they're actively harming the environment to make new ones.
110
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
That document could be boiled down to "this person used shitty references" They shouldn't be making money off their art if it's proven to be AI because AI should never be monetized, it's slop that ruins the environment. If necro is unintentionally using AI refs that they didn't generate, 1)

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
I'd be more concerned about the blurry parts of a picture than what software they're using personally, but I know I used to use the blur function to wipe things that weren't supposed to be the focal point of my art. I'm going to support artists until they prove beyond reasonable doubt they use AI.

Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Also, many artists, including myself, have well over 100 layers during an art piece. Have you considered that it would be nearly impossible to pay attention to a speedpaint if all you can see are the million layers on the side? A speedpaint exists to show an artist's process, not micromanage them.
010
Atlas @kinkykat04.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
It's kind of unfair to judge somebody for using accessibility tools built into an app specifically designed for accessibility, which is what the built-in speedpaint function for procreate is.
