Hey #Filmsky - go watch THE KID DETECTIVE (2020). A genuinely GREAT movie that perfectly balances humor with everything else going on plot wise. Adam Brody is phenomenal and the writing is just *chefs kiss*. Can't believe this flew under my radar for so long!

This past year, I managed to successfully remove myself from the toxicity of social media for the most part. It is, unfortunately, ubiquitous at this point, and so I have to maintain accounts for work, etc. But this coming year, my goal is to reduce my reliance on my phone/scrolling. Wish me luck!

I love foreign films but I hate that a lot of them dont caption/subtitle English lines for the Deaf/HoH. Watching BREATHLESS right now and occasionally they switch from French to English and I have no idea what they are saying. Everytime it happens I feel my hackles rise.

My two favorite pieces of art this year - TRAIN DREAMS and CLAIR OBSCUR: EXPEDITION 33 are both stories about grief and the difficulty of letting go. This has been a sad year for many reasons, but I am glad I have art that acknowledges such a difficult topic in such profound ways.

I grew up collecting baseball cards, and my Ryne Sandberg rookie card was one of my prized possessions. While my heart was (and is) always with Cleveland Baseball, there were so many other great players I loved watching, and Sandberg was one of the foremost. RIP.
