Doing some Y2K outfit studies with Pepper to help flesh out their outfits for their portraits! Did a quick base and now I'm just slapping clothes on. 🤔

Working on higher-fidelity sprites for FoM of Pepper. Right now it's their spring outfit and a 'nude' outfit to build everything else off of. Will be doing all sprite work in Aesprite.

This has been a HUGE undertaking but I'm finally done! I think I've cemented a lot of details about Pepper and developed a lore I'm rather proud of~ They have come a long way from inception and continue to form in my noggin! Feel free to ask anything that comes to mind! #fieldsofmistria #ocs #art

This is when Pepper runs into Juniper~ And things turn... interesting. That's all mi thoughts for now, I'll likely revisit and expound on this as the brain continues to churn on the game and I get more dialogue/cutscenes!

But it doesn't /feel/ good. It feels almost... wrong. He can't quite understand why but something warns him that Pepper isn't what they seem and yet he has no choice but to rely on them so he does. Pepper obliges and begins to collect Essence for Caldarus while also meeting the townsfolk of Mistria.

That night when Caldarus communes with Pepper to instruct them to bring him Essence to help rebuild his strength to recover his memory, he initially has a moment of confused panic. Pepper feels familiar. They /already have/ magic coursing through their veins. That should be good, right?

❤ 𝕄 𝕀 𝕐 𝕆 ❤ @kingmiyo.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Everything goes fine up until Eiland and Pepper chop down the tree covering up Caldarus' statue and help put the statue back together again. The name 'Caldarus' rings a bell in their head from their own studies into the history of magic through their studies of Caldosia, igniting an interest.

They take Adeline up on the offer to come to Mistria SOLELY because they have heard rumors of a practicing Witch that has taken up residence in the town and have explicit interest in magic users through the realm of Aldaria. Pepper comes to Mistria and settles on the quiet farm to the south.

❤ 𝕄 𝕀 𝕐 𝕆 ❤ @kingmiyo.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

They've met Adeline and the Sleeping Dragon Inn folks but only them along with Balor. Would arrive late at night, rent a room and be gone bright and early the next morning to make the trek back to the Capital. I think this has happened... 3 or 4 times before they see the missive from Adeline.

I'm thinkin on Pepper's origins. I think they came from the Capital and was originally hired muscle for merchants that needed to travel from the Capital to other towns. I think they met Balor in the Capital and have been to Mistria a few times on protection duty but never really stayed long. vv

Thinking of giving Pepper a necklace to better represent her origins. I think the necklace is better and has better storytelling elements for the future! After some Cutscenes I experienced today in-game I am formulating Pepper's role and connection to Caldarus as well as REDACTED~ #fieldsofmistria
