The earliest numismatic depiction of James VI appears on this gold £20 piece. It was minted in 1575 when the king was 9 years old & was the heaviest gold coin struck for circulation in the British Isles up to that point. It's one of the Hunterian coins we'll be handling at @kingjamesconf.bsky.social
