“You know,” Leon’s voice rumbled, not needing to travel far in the cramped space. “I really wasn’t a good kid.”

Luis hummed, shutting his eyes. He very much doubted that. He’d seen the pictures: Leon the round faced little rookie, barely not a child, eyes shining, not yet jaded, all too sweet for what the world had in store, wanting nothing more than to help others supposedly being a bad kid. He would laugh if not for Leon’s hand inching up his thigh.

“You weren’t?” Luis played along.

“No,” Leon’s hand itched over the denim stretching between Luis’s legs. His fingers paused, tracing the seam they landed on. “I was kind of trouble.”

Luis let himself be lowered to the lip of the tub, the clean scent of steam rushing the closer they got to the water.
“Can you take it from here?” Leon asked, pulling his arm away.
“Offering to help me undress?” A smile spread across Luis’s lips. A genuine one, with a teasing wicked upturn. His eyes crinkled with the pull of his foxish grin, twinkling with their usual gleam of mischief. “Now you’re just looking for an excuse to see me naked again.”
Leon’s lips mirrored Luis’s, twisting into a smile. He doubted his own grin was as wide as Luis’s, but it felt right to try and mirror the twinkle in the other man’s eye. Maybe he should wink?
Leon stood, stepping toward the door. “Maybe I am.”

He winked.
Luis blinked at him, making an inquisitional sound, as if Leon had said something funny but not quite enough to laugh. Leon repressed the urge to shuffle his feet as Luis studied him with that damn little smile on his face. He was expecting a line back, or a fucking laugh, but instead he was being examined like an especially peculiar insect.
Leon cleared his throat. “I’ll, uh, crack the door in case you need anything.”
“Alight.” Luis hummed, his leg half free of his bottoms as Leon made his exit. His eyes were still half watching Leon as he went. As fast as it had left, his smart ass grin had returned. “You know where I’ll be if you change your mind, cowboy.”
