After hiking the Great Glen Way across Scotland from Fort William to Inverness along the Caledonian canal and natural lochs-including Loch Ness, I am struck by the verdant lives of fern, moss, oak, pine, and moors festooned in heather. Spirits of old ways whisper on bird wings. Loss & hope entwine.
