I love my JetBrains IDEs, but what the heck? At first I thought it was an email about their LinkedIn page. But they want to monitor how I use my IDE so that they can have AI publish it on my LinkedIn profile? Heck no. I'm getting paid for results, not for how a machine judges that I achieve them.
A screenshot of Gmail showing an email from JetBrains news to me titled "Your JetBrains IDE Expertise, Now on LinkedIn".

The visible email shows a big call to action labeled "Conect your IDE" and the text reads:

Your JetBrains IDE Expertise, Now on LinkedIn

Every developer has tools they rely on daily. The workflows they've built around them, the ways they've learned to move faster, debug smarter, and write better code – that kind of hands-on experience can be hard to put into words.

We're collaborating with LinkedIn to make it easier for you to showcase your expertise with JetBrains IDEs on the world's largest professional network. You can now connect your IDE to LinkedIn and let your real tool usage speak for itself.

IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, PhpStorm, Rider, GoLand, CLion, RustRover, and RubyMine are already supported via a free plugin, while support for DataGrip is coming soon.

In this blog post, we'll explain what LinkedIn connected apps are, what they mean for your profile, and how to get started.

So I guess I solved this hard AI problem (/s)
A prompt in ChatGPT saying: “Can you draw me a left handed person reflected in a mirror?
Show only the reflection and not the source”

ChatGPT has generated an image of a right handed white man with black hair and a turquoise shirt, writing in a notebook resting on his left hand. Because the man is rendered as a reflection in a mirror, he’s actually drawing with his left hand.

I didn’t realize I had this power on that message. Used it now ☺️

[WARNING! HTML Abuse. Not for the faint-hearted.] I 100% love this and felt inspired. The bunny has enough selectors that it's all you need: jsfiddle.net/840paxmq/11/
Using CSS to show the bunny in the rendered output as well, eliminating all the extra classes that were part of the original bunny CSS. The ASCII bunny is rendered in hotpink on a dark gray card.

Being able to get certs for IP addresses from Let’s Encrypt is going to be pretty cool!
A slide at Fosdem showing:

IP Address Support
Right now you can only get certificates from Let's Encrypt for domain names.
Later this year you will be able to get certificates for IP addresses.
Will allow making authenticated TLS connections to IP addresses.

We can fix this!
XKCD Comic titled “How standards proliferate”. The first panel is text only “Situation: There are 14 competing standards”. The second panel character 1 says to character 2: “14?! Ridiculous! We need to develop one universal standard that covers everyone’s use cases.” Character two replies: “Yeah!”. Panel three titles “Soon”: “Situation: there are 15 competing standards.”

That’s immaculate
The Merriam Webster GIF of the quoted tweet stopped at “Immaculate”

My @cortexbrand.com order just came in. I’ve been hearing @myke.social and CGP Grey talk about it for years but never bought. Those shirts feel so high quality though! The subtle embroidery is top notch. These are great subtle tees 🤩

Toggl clearly gets confused by the fact that I have a timer running at every moment of the day (including tracking hours in bed).
Toggl’s version of Spotify wrapped called “Toggl Tracked”. Showing “You logged 3993 time entries this year!”, “You were most active on Tuesdays - clearly your favorite day to get things done.”, “Your go-to productivity window is 9PM-5AM. You're either a night owl, a vampire, or just really dedicated to making questionable late-night snack decisions.”, and finally “January was your peak productivity month - way to go!”.

I wanted to make a starter pack with Drupal folks, I think @bsky.app thinks I should really add @xkcd.com . As much as I’m an xkcd fan, I’m not aware of Randall working with Drupal
The “Choose People” screen in the Bluesky app showing “Randal Munroe, @xkcd.com” in the search results 5 times before showing the account of BlueSky itself.
