It’s something that me and my “normal” musician friends talk about a lot. It often ends up getting quite philosophical 😂

010

King Aurorus @kingaurorus.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

#gameaudio and #musicproduction are similar but have different uses/connotations and goals with the music/audio. To outsiders it’s strange but I often compare it to an architect vs an engineer, you both “build” the building but in different ways! #gamedev #indiedev #gamemusic

Even with a significantly underpowered PC (compared to the Mac) games built for windows just run better on a native machine rather than the VM

020

King Aurorus @kingaurorus.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

Unfortunately the primary reason for this Unfun fact is that I had tried the VM route in the past. For fully finished games it’s a rarer issue but any in development, little things like the code checking for a specific Windows file structure (but it sees Mac) can make the whole thing fail 😢

110

King Aurorus @kingaurorus.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

Do YOU need both a Mac and a Windows? Maybe not! But many #gameaudio professionals will which can be a truly brutal hit on the finances 💸 Luckily some companies will make sure you have both on their dollar. #gamedev #indiedev #gamedevelopment
