My coach shared a writing exercise that I found very helpful in moving past some things from the job I recently left. Sharing in case it’s helpful for you! (Adapted from Opening Up: The Healing Power of Expressing Emotions, James W. Pennebaker) Screenshot with alt text below

Exercise: Becoming Stronger through Writing

Write continuously about the very upsetting or traumatic experience.
Don't worry about grammar, spelling, or sentence structure. In your writing discuss your deepest thoughts and feelings about the experience. Let yourself go and touch the deepest emotions and thoughts that you have about the experience.

In other words: write about what happened and how you felt about it then, and how you feel about it now.
Write continuously for 20 to 30 minutes every day for 4 days.

To get the most out of this exercise:
• Complete your writing in a quiet place where you can feel relaxed and able to write without interruption.
• Don't worry about spelling or grammar.
• Write about something extremely personal and important for you.
• Do not share your writing with anyone.

Hot tip: once you’ve saved your elected officials’ contact info, making quick calls to share your opinions is a breeze! Or if you consistently call them, like I do, just go back into your recent calls list and hit that call button.

Happy to help! Described in alt text.

19-year old tabby cat (Taz) with a white face and paws curled up as the little spoon to a big orange cat (Pinto). They are on a fuzzy gray blanket on the couch with a colorful pillow behind them. It’s hard to tell from this photo but Pinto outweighs old lady Taz by more than 2:1, yet somehow she is still the boss.

Had my breakfast toast on the plate along with an organic fairtrade Nicaraguan roast from Philly Fair Trade.

Feeling inspired to use this for something today…

Okay, totally get that. Glad you are giving him a caring home! Here’s our old lady Taz (nearly 19, rescued as a kitten from a dumpster by vet students way back in the day).

32 bus line and many train lines could face severe cuts. Others will see service reduced. wwww.septa.org/fundingcrisi...

My favorite thing that happened today was when the crowd started chanting “Pop-pop” to this gentleman who was attending his first protest. #handsoff #handsoffphilly

A large crowd of protestors mostly facing away from the camera as they round Philadelphia City Hall. There is an older white man standing near a flower bed of daffodils, holding a sign saying “Pop pop’s first ever protest”.

Fetterman.senate.gov website which reads “WEBSITE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO MAINTENANCE. Normal service will return soon.”

If you see this, quote from flowers from your gallery.

An azalea absolutely covered in bright pink / fuchsia blossoms. In the background is an old stone wall, a less impressive white azalea, and assorted other trees - some with bright green new leaves, others that have not yet leafed out.

The showy blossom of a maypop, a type of passionflower: it has light yellow blossoms, a layer of purple and white fringe, and bright green and purple stamen

Not right when we first got them, but close! They were 4-5 months old at adoption.

Sibling cats (an orange boy and his standard issue tabby cat brother) side by side in a small round cat bed on the hardwood floor. The tabby cat is on his side with one back paw hanging over the edge of the bed.

The same tabby cat (Turtle) and his orange brother (Pinto) cozying up together as they sprawl on top of a bookshelf. Their eyes are open and they are both looking at the camera, the orange cat with a slightly suspicious air (but that just his face). The tabby cat has one of his front paws resting on top of his brother’s paw.

I followed these two different feeds that were recommended but neither one is great tbh

Wonky screenshot of two BlueSky purported Philly feeds, one with a Liberty Bell icon and the other with Gritty.

This silly old lady (foreground, fluffy white belly, an 18 year old tabby cat named Taz) just had two emergency vet visits in two days, but is doing much better today. The orange cat in the background is just fine, if perpetually hungry.

A tabby cat with a fluffy white belly with her little laws tucked up near her chin is sprawled out on a coffee table, while in the background an orange cat is curled into a circle on a white ikea armchair.

Went to visit and it looks like something in the magnolia family: not sure if you saw these pods starting to form. My plant app says likely a Cucumber tree (magnolia acuminata)

These particular South Philly residents might be MAGA fans… if you look at a map of 2020 election results, South Philly is one the few parts of the city where Trump beat Biden.
