Four days left of my current job before I move to the new/old job. I've felt the stress and burnout start lifting ever so slightly since I found out I got the reassignment. I was productive all three days this weekend and it feels good to want to tackle domestic things again.

Well that ended up being a nice Thanksgiving! We were supposed to go to my parents', but their water system is having trouble, so they asked if they could bring dinner to our house. They brought everything cooked and ready to re-heat, except we cooked the potatoes here. Such an easy dinner!

Pandering to the urge to get rid of all my earthly belongings by purging a single kitchen cabinet in twenty minutes. You wouldn't believe how much stuff I pulled out of it straight into the garbage (it's the cabinet where odds and ends go to die).

I have the urgent desire to get rid of 50% of our belongings. I need to take a couple days off and just do it. The hardest part is wanting to be ethical about how we get rid of things but that demands extra time with things sitting in piles waiting to sell etc.

I could not have stayed living in this house if we hadn't gotten better windows and a heat pump. I have my windows open right now and the traffic noise from the busy street I live on is untenable. A fun thing to do on a non-work day is to go through a car wash and quickly realize you need a new windshield ASAP because the seal strip is flapping in the water jet, and then spend your day getting that dealt with as a preventative measure to water damage potential
