i long to return to the days when "franchise" primarily meant the kind of place you spent a dollar at for some sort of inedible food sludge, rather than the IP slurry that every piece of media is now expected to become an interchangeable part of

The game basically wants you to be able to hold two ideas in your head at once. the Sarkaz were forced into violence and basically have no choice but to use it in their pursuit of freedom but also lots of people will suffer because of it, it doesn't want to sugarcoat the costs

Hmmm that makes sense, I think the focus of the Victoria arc is less on a story like this and more just showing "average" Victorians for what they are. Good and bad alike.

Katherine Marie @kimikatherine.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

I hope this doesn't come of as intrusive, but I was wondering about your philosophy regarding depictions of heavy — I'm going to give you a brutally honest answer this stuff just comes kind of naturally to me. Like obviously I want tetratto.com/posts/34ex1G...

Hmmm I would still disagree with this I think. Stuff like how the Victorians treat the Sarkaz throughout the arc, Catherine talking about being a weapons developer in 11. You absolutely see the cruelty of like "ordinary Victorians." The game just doesn't think they deserve to be wiped off the map

This i the point of every other Victoria arc chapter no? 9 deals with this very explicitly and then so does 11 to the ending as the dukes sort of come in and act as a representation of Victoria's ruling class. Even 10 deals with working class racism on the Sarkaz, the SSC is led by British Kaschey..

Katherine Marie @kimikatherine.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Not to be annoying about academia on main but why is there any debate on if Classicist's count as actual historians. I think it depends a little on the academic in question (some do lean more towards lit crit) but like, come the fuck on man
