Podbean claims everything has been fixed and should be normal now, but our traffic since Monday hasn’t been updated to reflect legitimate downloads/listens. And more worryingly, our current traffic is still being affected. Nothing is showing up.

An email from Podbean: “We recently enabled a filtering technology designed to identify and filter AI and crawler-related traffic. The implementation appears to have significantly limited downloads for some podcasts in ways that were not expected when compared with previous traffic patterns. We have since rolled back the change, and downloads should now be processed as they had been previously.

Any content that was successfully served in accordance with IAB standards in that period should now be reflected in your statistics. However, requests that were filtered and did not result in content being delivered or did not meet the IAB threshold of 60 seconds of consumption will not appear in your statistics and cannot be added retroactively.

At this point, we do not expect statistics from the affected period to update further. If you personally verified a” (the rest is cut off)

Podbean metrics are all fucked up because of an update that was designed to block AI/bot traffic from showing up, and instead blocked genuine downloads?? While I am encouraged knowing that other people are experiencing it too, it's still really demoralizing. No clue when it'll be fixed.

Once again, I have to applaud the efforts of Vyn, Madeline, and Robert. This is some BLEAK, "play to lose" storytelling, and they are handling it so expertly. We actually had a blast recording this! The more stressful the game, the more secretly giggly they are off-mic.

Toronto Webfest selections are coming out, and I just wanted to share a convo I had with someone on the TO Webfest team back in February. I can’t help but wonder if any other AP shows also didn’t submit because they felt (or in my case, told directly) that there wasn’t a place for them this year?

Congrats! Out of curiosity, what category did you submit under? They told me specifically back in February that they weren’t accepting Actual Play podcasts for their 2026 festival, so I didn’t end up submitting anything. Now I’m wondering if I simply talked to the wrong person 😅…

I think we did 13 Day/Night cycles (including Assault on HH) and 3 episodes of MM confrontation, across 52 episodes. And my cast was begging to keep going! It was their first CfB, and they’re hooked. I only cut them off because I wanted to save some room for S2!
