Seeing as I don’t even know how to share the Instagram reel I created (my first ever) here, I will learn about social media through this challenge and hopefully some other people will learn about wrongful conviction. 😁

In honour of International Wrongful Conviction Day (Oct 2nd), my lab and our school’s Innocence Club (which greatly overlap) have taken on a challenge to post about wrongful conviction weekly until the end of the year.

I attended the Innocence Network conference for the first time. It was amazing! #innocenceconference And a special thank you to the Florida Innocence Project team for allowing me to hitch a ride to the airport (and avoid the Blue Line)!

I was wondering where this legislation was in the pipeline. Canada recently established the Canadian Registry of Wrongful Convictions (www.wrongfulconvictions.ca), and it sound like we may soon have an independent review board…

Odd question, but does anyone have any advice on how to end a wrongful conviction course on a more hopeful note? I feel like my lectures are full of doom and gloom these days. I don’t want to misrepresent, but I don’t want to instil a sense of hopelessness either.
