In fact I had no idea of the depth and breadth of misogyny in American culture. Contempt for women is so 'bedrock' for both sexes most just sat there when religious conservatives took control of our bodies away from us.

Trumpism provided a permission structure for men (and women) to be openly misogynistic. They're not worse. In a way, I prefer that misogynists self-identify. Men who mask their contempt for women gave a lot of us the impression there were fewer of them. Same for racists & bigots, I'm sad to say.

Technically, the founders intended for no political parties at all, and this guided the way they structured elections. It's why there's only 1 winner no matter what, and no more than 2 political parties could be salient at any given time. It's a bummer, I agree.
