Thanks! This was a replacement they sent me for one that warped and so I sealed the wells on this one with nail polish and treated myself to some tiny tubes of better quality paint than the ones that came with it. Never used professional quality watercolour before and I’m loving how well it layers!

Last night had a lot of chopping (my knife skills are ok but still mid enough that match sticking things still takes a while) but now I have a bunch more dishes for the fridge and freezer. I know I don’t HAVE to make OJ carrots into flowers but they are so cute when I do so can’t help myself.

Realised I didn’t get around to sharing this. 18th birthday commission for a friend’s child, it was lovely to get to try and capture so many little elements of their past and personality.

Trying to add more protein and fibre to my bento so I don’t crash as hard mid afternoon and oops I bought a new slightly bigger magewappa box to help me. A new shape to play with! Plus now I gotta make nice lunches or the new box will be sad.

Watching the @drawfeeshow.com gang talk about realising that I am a fan (of course I am they’re great) and @atnathanyaffe.bsky.social pointing out that I could be watching at any time was delightfully surreal & really tickled me so I had to draw this last night when I should have been going to bed

Bentoposting time again! Cause I’m still crawling out of a bit of a hole on selfcare, I bought myself pre-cooked chicken and then made batches of 3 very easy but tasty side dishes last night.

A 2 part black bento box on a woven mat. The small side has rice mixed with quinoa, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and gochujang carrot salad, decorated with small basil leaves and tiny nori stars. Art rehab doodles of some of the stuff in my workouts at the moment. I am but a potato but it’s nice to be trying strength stuff again.

Today’s bento had a couple of new recipes in it. I’m glad the stripy beets kept their stripes after being roasted and marinated, they are so striking (they look even cooler raw)

I’m in an acappella trio called Arbrevyn and it turns out there was a photographer in our Friday gig at Sidmouth folk festival this year… despite being told I looked the most comfortable on stage I’ve been by a friend, every photo is roughly this:

Too rainy to eat outside and I have taken the week off for mental health recovery so I plated up lunch (and had miso soup too) instead. Making the mini onigiri with the little shaker mould I got was so fun.

Realised I’ve not been using my 2 layer box for a while and it’s very good for putting in my little backpack if I wanna walk before lunch. I’ve been low energy this week so bought some cooked salmon to kickstart my stash of dishes until I can cook some proteins. The kinpira is so good though.

Today’s bento has more of those smoky miso beans, with some green bean goma-ae. I didn’t think I’d be able to find anything interesting looking to do with today’s (I’m trying not to post boxes that are toooo similar in a row) but I like how the spring onions ended up looking
