I have really good experiences with these for beige-era macs (6200, 6500, Desktop G3), though my Cubes don't seem to like them 😄

Apple Siri autocomplete is implying that I'm about to say "My rule of thumb is that one hour is sixty minutes" which is something an insane person would say.
A screenshot of an iOS message which reads "My rule of thunb is 1 hour equals". The "1 hour equals" is highlighted and the iOS autocomplete is "equals 60 minutes".

Very cool! I noticed that the "S"-logo on the SuperMatch display closely resembles the "S"-logo on SuperMac video cards, maybe/probably the same company. SuperMac made NuBus and LC-PDS video cards for macs!

Same, my premolar exploded at work. Cost me 10k to attempt the root canal, didn't save the tooth anyway so had to get it extracted which took one and a half hours, plus it got infected so had to have a weekend tannlegevakt and get antibiotics

@aftenposten.no Hallo! Var hos foreldre i går, virker som at iPad-app'en deres selvrapporterer mindre lagring enn det den faktisk tar opp. iPad'en var helt full mens app'en bare fyllte på. Kan dere da en kikk? App tror den bruker 700MB, men bruker faktisk over 9GB. Blir fort trangt på en eldre iPad!

My new laptop came with Tahoe and my god how did this UI ever ship
A screenshot of Apple's Music app showing a music library in column view. A horizontal scrollbar is drawn across file information presented in the column view rather than at the bottom of the window, which makes part of the column view unreadable. The playback widget floats on top of the column view, also blocking information. The playback progress bar is almost invisibly thin and does not show current timestamp or total song duration. There is like at least another dozen elementary fuckups in terms of this being a functional user interface. Alan Dye is a hack bullshit artist.

Aha, we found it! It was your alt text description of the InstaTower, I'd sent him a screenshot of it in november 2024. The text is too long to copypaste because There Is A Lot To Say about that case, but here is a screenshot - with alt text 😆
A screenshot of a Power Macintosh Instatower with a copypaste of the ALT text, which reads "photo of a Macintosh Performa 6400 taken from lowish looking up at it. It's an extremely beige tower with acres of plastic and no really obvious reason or advantage to being a tower. It has a grotesque large forehead that's ostensibly an external 3.5" drive bay, a CD-ROM below that, a floppy drive embedded in the front panel and then an arbitrarily placed collection of buttons, holes, an IR port and headphone jack seemingly places to take up as much room as possibly in the field of grey plastic as possible to make things seem just a little less bare."

I've made a Power Macintosh 6100/80! This overclock needed the hot air station. I was worried about cooling - the 6100 case has bad airflow - and noticed that a 40mm fan fits perfectly into the "crown"-style heatsink of the PPC 601 😄

Also, easily one of the most beautiful motherboards I have seen. And the wide trace spacing, generous pad area, and well thought-out placement means you are much less likely to damage nearby components. This was just a joy to work on!

The NeXTstation is up and running! It is in phenomenal condition - even the battery still had 2.6V left (down from 3.0V). What an interesting and opinionated machine - they seem to have had some very clear ideas about how they wanted these to be used.

Sometimes when you're fixing up an old compact Mac, it's best to run them in the extremely undignified "Prolapse Mode"

I overclocked my Macintosh LC630! This meant desoldering and repositioning two tiny ass resistors. This is definitely the limit of what I can see and manipulate without a microscope 😆 Instructions are here: www.applefool.com/clockchippin...
A closeup of the reverse side of a green LC630 logic board. The picture is focused on four resistor locations - two resistors labeled 301 and 472 which have been moved and resoldered, and two sets of blank pads where these used to sit. Everything is fucking tiny.A shot of the two resistors, lying on a piece of green tape and labeled with their board locations. A q-tip is also in frame for scale, it is monstrous by comparison.
