beat the main campaign for Galactic Racer. Simple but fun story and is just so refreshing. No nonsense, you bullshit, just main set up, twist, payoff at the end and it's great and refreshing. Next to Denshattack!, this is my GOTY it's no contest. Gonna be playing multiplayer and arcade modes.

HOWEVER, the one game I’ve felt didn’t waste my time this year was Denshattack!. Best game of the year, felt like cold water in the face waking me up. Reminded me what I loved about video games. The core gameplay excels on all fronts, story is lifted by it and it just is no BS, get to it. The best

Shelved Control Resonant. Game has no purpose being as long as it is. 17 hours and it feels like I've just reached Act 2. This and Onimusha suffer the same problem; enough stuff for a 10 hour game, stretched to 30 hours. IT'S OK FOR STUFF TO BE UNDER 10 HOURS

This site fucking sucks I don’t think I saw a post mentioning Friday was THE ORIGINAL SILENT HILL 2s 25th ANNIVERSARY I played through it all the way for the first time back in 2022 and it’s become one of my all time favorites. It still holds up insanely well all these years later.

Control Resonant has the "push square and then triangle and use these abilities" kinda simple, almost PS2 combat (which I like). What makes it better is the really cool movement and awesome level design. Engaging with enemies is fun and story so far is keeping me hooked. Bosses so far are eh.

I think what I love about Magic is that it feels like there’s a somewhat infinite skill ceiling. You can always improve cause even with good cards, you can just brick on draws or opponents have ways to counter. I wish I had started years ago cause this game rules.

the more I get into Magic the Gathering the more I yearn for the cards with art that reminds me of Frank Frazetta and Larry Elmore. I got in with Final Fantasy, but I'd love to see art in future sets that's just like hard old school D&D type art.

This is obviously very small in the grand scheme but I like that they seem to be changing small things in Ocarina. This part of Great Deku Tree having a wood bridge fall and not a random 3D block is a nice touch. Feels more concise with the world while keeping the base flow the same

also I am calling it, the game will come out within the same period of GTA 6. Whether it's the day of, the week before or the same week, they'll put it out around the same time. If there's one game that could release within the same blast radius as GTA 6, Zelda can. And a remake of one of the GOATs

Locking it in: Ocarina of Time Remake will be similar in vain to how Capcom did the RE2 Remake. It's the same game on paper, but going deeper there's changes all over that make it feel like a new game all together. I don't expect it to just be 1 to 1 but prettier like Demons Souls or MGS Delta

I finally figured out how to set up a PC-98 emulator. Policenauts runs at a snails pace but it boots and starts. Found some random schmups and will play more to check out the library. If I run into the porn games, it is what it is.

so yeah, MGS4 still rules. The fact all mainline MGS games are now readily available for people to check out on all platforms is honestly a dream for me. The fact more people will be able to actually play these games and see what they really is awesome.

the game clearly is paying more tribute to MGS1 and it seems to kinda dismantle everything MGS2 did. This game only exists due to fans being fans and sending Kojima and his team death threats. MGS4 was never meant to exist or have answers, but I do love it for what it is

the whole "sneaking in a warzone" concept fucking rules in the first 2 acts. Then afterwards it becomes more akin to the older MGS's with set pieces and almost less stealth at times. It is a pathway from the classic MGS to what it would be with Peace Walker and MGS5.

Currently in the epilogue (70 minutes of cutscenes) but fuck all the haters and doubters, MGS4 fucking rules. as an MGS2 lover, I absolutely hate what it does with retcons. Kojima clearly was kinda winging it with some story but game is still a wild awesome ride almost 20 years later.

I hope with MGS4 being re-released finally it gets a re-evaluation. In a world where every big game plays it safe, spreadsheet and focus tested to death, here's a massive game from a visionary who didn't even wanna do it. But he did it in only a way he and his team could. It's one of a kind.

TIL in the Japanese version of MGS1, Psycho Mantis reads exclusively games made by KCE Japan (KojiPro at the time). If you have Policenauts and Snatcher in your saves, you will hear Kojima go “Thank you for your continued support!”. I would have freaked out more hearing his voice do this haha
