30 September 1966 - 60 years ago today. The Troggs release the fantastic I Can't Control Myself. Saying they're here to stay with 1st single on the Page One label. Here as it was in the shops of Australia (on Parlophone!), Germany, and - with the same pic - Denmark and France.

23 September 1966 - 60 years ago today. The UK release of the scornful Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?, The Rolling Stones' most aurally dense and outre single so far. The in-your-face French pic sleeve here, as per the US issue. All in all, a declaration. Of sorts.

A deeply weird listen - Australian issue of the 1st Clash LP. Mastered/EQd to emphasis the mid range: a conventional take on the sound. Not a trebly scratch as per the UK. Extra clarity too. It works: esp Deny, Cheat, Garageland. The live White Riot is awful though, as there's little to work from.
