Kidsave reunified 13 children with their families in Sierra Leone, bringing hope, stability, and lasting family connections.

While this is a huge accomplishment, the journey is far from over. These reunited families received integrated counseling and training to make the reunion feasible and stable. However, four children are still searching for their loved ones.

Thanks to the assistance of local child welfare services, and community outreach, our team successfully reunited 13 of the 17 children with their families!

Kidsave’s reunification program, along with partnership of Integrated Development Initiatives, have made efforts to reunite these children with extended family members and give them a sense of home and security they thought lost.

Eunice spent her childhood moving from foster home to foster home. Each time, she had to start over: new house, new people, new surroundings. It was a hard process that often left Eunice feeling discouraged and hopeless. She questioned whether there was forever family out there for her.

The hosting process was a learning experience for everyone involved. Going from a home of two to a home of five was not without its challenges. But, through thick and thin, the Hatchers supported each other and worked toward their shared goal: becoming a family.

In 2024, after extensive research, they met Juan Pablo, who goes by JP. After participating in similar programs in the past without success, JP took another shot and joined them through Winter hosting.

Richard Cores and Guillermo Barbosa knew infant adoption wasn’t the right path for them. Coming from Latino backgrounds, they both felt adopting an older youth from a different country was the only logical choice. It would fit with their lifestyle and values. It was then they found Summer Miracles.

In 2024, she officially became a part of the Flitton family. Today, she's an honor student at Texas A&M, joining the 1% of foster youth who go to college. Jada is proof that it is never too late to change the course of your life.

Michael and Shannon Peter were already raising two young children, Willa and Victor, when they decided to grow their family through the Summer Miracles program at Kidsave. Siblings Yuri and Emily spoke to them on a spiritual level and the Peters knew that they had to meet them.

Cate Blanchett - Blanchett and her husband adopted their daughter in 2015, welcoming her into a family with three older brothers. Blanchett has shared that she’d wanted to adopt since the birth of her first child, describing adoption as both a “pot luck” and a “profound blessing".
