FedEx believes $300M electric truck spend will save them $800M in diesel
In a record-setting commercial truck deal, international shipping giant FedEx has placed an order for 2,000 all-electric box trucks from American startup Harbinger in a deal that’s reportedly worth more than $300 million – but the ROI could be much higher. more…

TSA has a union, what does AFGE say about this?

The present purpose of California is to avoid natural disaster until the FEMA budget is in the hands of responsible adults. But yeah, illustrating the vivid pitfalls of the jungle primary is helpful, too.

I suspect the bond market may be starting to pitch a fit about national debt to try to force a "grand bargain" under divided govt in the next two years, instead of risking all their regress (sic) in a Dem trifecta later. They just need a few Dems stupid enough to take the blame.

As the United States transitions to a scam-based economy, it is only natural that scam-based governments encourage scam-based schools to replace real ones, as ProPublica demonstrates.

They'll be funding 17 Democratic candidates to replace Senator Warren, one Republican, and Seth Moulton. A jungle indeed.

If your proposal for reform requires a constitutional amendment, or Republican votes, your intention is to block reform.

It's free and easy. Go to the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion online. Ignore all the marketing for other services like credit monitoring, you want the free govt-regulated Credit Freeze. Here's detailed instructions: www.experian.com/blogs/ask-ex...

Ken Sinclair @khsinclair.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
A Credit Freeze makes the credit industry work for you: they have to get your permission before any release of your data, or to create a new account or loan in your name. Someone could still steal your identity, but they can't do much damage without detection.

Between this and other major security breaches, Social Security numbers are no longer the secret identifiers we've thought they were. Assume that anyone motivated to steal your identity can easily find it. One important defense: Freeze your credit file.

Doesn't need insurrection act any more (given ice forces). Governors should stop worrying about that threat, and just oppose feds when necessary.

So when the administration says, inevitably, that X% of GA voters were illegal, the election division and attorney general can say "You cannot know that without having committed a crime, which we are now investigating".

Can you folks use these distinct tax repeal events to figure out how much of the taxes are ordinarily paid by reducing supply chain margins instead of simply adding to end user cost? How much of the repeal value is taken by suppliers?

This may be a good thing. Families with some wealth will understand that a 529 or Roth account is a much better move. Families without that wealth or acumen will benefit from the initial $1000 gift, but won't contribute any of their hard-earned money. www.savingforcollege.com/article/trum...

It's puzzling that DoJ keeps seeking release of state voter data. They could accomplish their stated objective differently: give each state a list of voters (from the discredited SAVE db) that they want deregistered, and demand that they do it. Seems the data is more important than the result?

Trump wants Iran to erase the big L from his forehead. The IRGC is not going to do that, no matter the cost to the Iranian people. The war will continue, waxing and waning, as long as he's in power.

And Dean's argument is essentially that we already have legal tools to deter the people creating these agents, so we should use them instead of inventing new ones. The key is reinforcing that deterrence, even for rich white men hiding behind corporate law.

Ken Sinclair @khsinclair.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
The law has always been slower than bad actors, and relied on deterrence instead. Deterrence is the product of A) probability of punishment, and B) degree of punishment. In American justice, both factors have broken down for rich white men. That must be fixed.

What does Congress need to do? Aren't there existing laws applicable? Is there State law you could use? Akamai is in your jurisdiction, and has threat exposure; if ai hacked them or their customers, or vice versa, is that actionable? Trying to stop the "somebody else should do something" bus.

So is any new legislation required here? We really can't trust Congress to pass anything more than two pages long without corrupt influence, and the current DoJ won't prosecute. Are the statutes of limitation long enough to support a tacit threat?

Basically, don't try to "accomplish" anything, their job is maximal opposition. And make sure the electorate knows that, and isn't holding them responsible for "progress" by 2028.

What was their economic benefit from running ~50 2mw generators for a year unpermitted? That should be the minimum fine. Actually, these "temporary" generators need more serious deterrence: fine should start after 1 month and double every month thereafter.

A desktop computer emits about the same heat as a human body, so you've got about 7 virtual people in there with you. The problem with a data center is the density: a single rack of AI-capable compute can dissipate >100kw, like 1000 people crammed into 10 sq.ft, times >2000 racks...

He absolutely does not care about reducing the interest on the national debt. In fact the GOP wants to leave those payments as high as possible in 2029 to block Dem action. But he does view low interest rates, increased money supply, as a visible measure of economic success and his success.

IIRC, the political theory behind the Social Security cap was that if rich people's annual contributions weren't capped, they'd call the program a fraud or a scam and try to undermine it.

Cheap is always relative, and it's hard to be cheaper when the competition (solar+battery) has free fuel. Even if fusion R&D was complete and successful today, with capital and fuel costs it could only compete in situations where solar is not available.

It's impressive how bad Google Messages is at filtering out actblue and similar fundraising spam. The messages are remarkably similar and distinctive in form and vocabulary, but no matter how many you "report" (submit to train your spam model), it never learns to recognize them.
