oh.. that's the autistic trans experience, I suppose

It reads:

"Your Result: Discontent. You create from discontent. Most of your life has been spent being uncomfortable in your own skin. This body is just another house that's never felt like home. You don't know how to be at ease in this world or this life. Art is a way of running away, of forgetting yourself and escaping to a more comfortable place. To cope with an unhospitable reality, you create more welcoming worlds to consume your work and your waking hours. But the foundation of your art has always been your discontent with the real world and your life within it. Lurking behind the inviting scenery you dream of is the desperate desire to be anywhere but here. It is a world constructed as a respite from this one. Such vivid fantasies are the dream of one who considers reality a prison."

The 17 year old batteries in this Gameboy Color had leaked so much but **miraculously** the board is spotless and the terminals don't even need to be replaced.

The back of a Nintendo Gameboy Colour. The 17 year old Duracell batteries are out and there is crusty battery acid leakage/dust everywhere. The battery contacts inside the console are still coated in crusty, thick, white leakage.

A Gameboy Color motherboard in pretty solid condition. The battery contacts are a little crusty with corrosion from battery acid.

before and after fixing the vertical lines. a little heat and pressure on the ribbon restores the connection to the LCD and voilà! the missing columns are back

An original Nintendo Gameboy out of its case. The screen has faulty connections to the ribbon cable causing vertical lines to appear.

Issues fixed: - wouldn’t power on - detached screen protector - vertical lines - didn’t read cartridges fullstop Issues still to go: - doesn’t read cartridges reliably - volume wheel doesn’t work (always maxed out) - one horizontal power-off line

Pokémon Yellow running on an original Nintendo Gameboy but it is out of its case. You can see the screen, motherboard, speaker, and wires.
