Don’t condescend to me. I’m a former prosecutor. Criminal cases aren’t brought FOR victims. They’re brought for the state. Victims don’t know what it takes to get a conviction or to get a jury to recommend the death penalty. Why should they control any level of the process?

If the federal court in your district finds that your rights are violated, that ruling only applies to you. The government can violate your next door neighbor in the same way you sued about. Your constitutional rights in Ohio may not apply to a citizen in PA two miles away.

The deportation is the same as it ever was. The fact that a district court judge can no longer determine that a constitutional violation applies to every citizen in the United States creates a multi tiered system of rights that depends on where you are.

This will piss some of you off, but I lay these awful Supreme Court decisions at the feet of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. If she had retired in 2014 after being diagnosed with cancer, Obama could have named her replacement. She was a great jurist, but she made a really bad decision.
