Just had a dream where I was in high school and my teacher wanted to prove she could make a better street fighter movie (but officially just wanted us to learn how to make one.) For some reason her's had Cid Final Fantasy so I got the role by wearing a bomber jacket and saying Fighter with a Hard R.

I think they should be treated differently, soundtracks are kind of made to accompany something but standalone music is meant to be standalone. Sometimes there's overlap, but it's a pretty important thing to remember when judging them

As an open world enjoyer and exploration defender I had fun doing both kinds of sidequest but the sheer contrast between how engaging johnny's sidequest was, and how confident it was in its challenge compared to "btw there's a chest here" was palpable lol. And unfortunately people lump them together

Then you notice the ziplines are numbered, and if you talk to johnny you find the maximum reward is from finding 8, so then you can put your map reading skills to use, I had ziplines 1, 4, and 8 marked so I knew the rest were in the area between them. Both 3D navigation and map reading tested.

So instead of tunnel visioning the area around you filling out a checklist, this sidequest makes you look up and around and actually take in the entire area, and when you see ziplines you have to figure out how to get to it. And then when you do find a couple ziplines they're finally on your map but

By contrast Johnny's sidequest tells you to locate "supplies" but all he says is "they're on ziplines". The ziplines are not marked on the detailed map, you're not told how many there are, you also don't have to collect all of them. You do this sidequest by... looking up, and around, and exploring.

Getting back into 7 Rebirth and the corel area is a really good example of this. Each time you find a sub area, it says Location discovered, which is great! Then it says "locate the treasure 0/3" which suddenly turns it into a checklist even though the location itself was not on the checklist.

Like you're only allowed to play fixed growth the first time you're playing Maddening and the paralogues have much higher average stats than the main story, and you're not allowed to save mid battle so once you use up all your turnwheel charges that's it*

Kind of depends on what you want out of it but I would definitely suggest just playing Hard first, especially if you don't plan on the DLC, because the way the maps get crazy on hard mode prepares you for how you might approach maddening, but maddening would probably wall someone unprepared

The instructions aren't mistranslated, or poorly written, you're supposed to ignore what they say and look like the most patriotic jingoistic mook in the crowd to make the producers love you by mashing the poses as much as you can.
